15,000 Slaves returned to Liberia Africa. Many Northern and Southern officers enlisted in foreign armies. Wagon trains left for the Wild West. Americans can always find places with opportunity.

Commented on 1860s Civil War Letters: Page 1You can go to the family history section of any public library with a hand held scanner and collect 100s of Civil War letters. Most are about common events and not deep political or religious rants. The majority of the guys are are 16 to 25.

Commented on The real Price of Freedom1784 to 1788 Franklin Co. NC was an independent country. My Great grandparents did not celebrate 4 July because Gettysburg battle was lost and Vicksburg fell in July so they felt they lost their freedom in 1865.
Not sure the comment section is a good place for debates.

Commented on The real Price of FreedomNO. I have not read the whole Declaration of Independence. I doubt 90 % of the Colonist ever read it. George Washington applied for an Commission in the British Army and was denied due to foreign birth.
Why are only four people commenting on articles? Too difficult to log in?

Commented on The real Price of FreedomEngland used the wrong folks to settle America. I read a lost article where England used Scots to settle the South and Irish and Europeans to settle the North. All were enemies. Then they used German Mercenaries to help them fight us.

I write with a pseudonym because of the fiction I insert in my articles. Using my real name would limit me to facts. I try to half way protect my address because some things I write are not popular with or interesting to local friends and relatives.

Young CM. Correct. My grandson chooses not to play group sports like baseball but is good at gymnastics. He is at computer camp now. The new theory is to let kids be very good at something rather than spend time on weak points like social skills.
Good conversation. Ignore BT. Listen to me.

Another post is a good idea. ASD of course is not cognitive psychology but a TV special about Japan says they provide Visual, Audio, and kinesthetic specialized training after testing each student for preference. Obviously I am as lost as a ball in high weeds here. Part of my problem is talking too much.

My grandson has Asperger but is doing great in school. The new world of electronics allows him more reclusive time where social skills are not as necessary. I personally have trouble reading long articles or listening to lectures but YouTube and recorded lectures can be paused. Great video.

Commented on Reared Southern: A Condition of HeritageCM: Exactly my point, the younger folks have little interest in history unless they know living people involved. We have fought approx 8 wars since 1865. But no group wants another group to steal their stuff.

Commented on Reared Southern: A Condition of HeritageMy kids have no interest in Southern History. The last CSA vet died in 1938 so my parents, born in the 20s, knew some vets but I do not. The history is interesting but without emotion.
