Virginia is also joining Florida in challenging "woke" in the classroom, at least from the state level. Some local boards like Loudon County and Fairfax County are "woke" extremists.

North Carolina as a state has butchered its history ("social studies") curriculum by a "woke" version from the state level, and it is up to local boards to "just say NO" to that.

Look at the video and commentary. It clearly says "Uvalde SCHOOL police cheif" not "Uvalde town police chief". I have read that quite a few other places, but it is plain as day in this article itself.

In the Republican governors primary, there are two top drawer candidate almost certain to get in and both have a following among GOP activists and the GOP base, Lt. Governor Mark Robinson and State Treasurer Dale Folwell. Mark would probably make the better candidate but Dale would make the better governor. Tillis apprears to badly want to run, but if he got the nomination, he would be an albatross around the neck of the whole GOP ticket. There is also a possibility of two other mediocre candidates running, former Congressman Mark Walker and failed former Governor Pat McCrory. Personally, I wish Folwell would keep his powder dry and run against Tillis in the 2026 Senate primary.

On the Council of State, this article missed one on Commissioner of Labor. Not only are liberal establishment Republican Jon Hardister and conservative Freedom Caucus member Representative Ben Moss running, but so is attorney Taylor Brooks, who is an opponent of Covid vaccine mandates. The article also misses what is sure to be a hot primary for Superintendant of Public Instruction. Incumbent Catherine Truitt, a McCrory moderate, has greatly disappointed the GOP base, beginning when she was sworn in and appointed a liberal Democrat as her top deputy. It has gone downhill from there, with her most recent scandal the firing of a professor at Governors School, which is run by DPI, for daring to give three optional lectures questioning CRT. It turns out that the woman Ttuitt has running Governors School is a hard core leftist. That will certainly be a major primary.

Then there is the Obamacare Medicaid expansion. The writer completely misses the real divide on this issue. It is between the Republican base which does not want this socialist program, and some GOP legislative leaders who want to pander to the special interests and pass it. Any Republican legislator who betrays the GOP base and votes for this piece of garbage needs a primary.

Kevin McCarthy is a prostitute for the special interests, much like Mitch McConnell and the GOP leaders in the NC General Assembly. That is the basic problem with McCarthy. He is one of the biggest alligators in the swmap. It was appalling that Trump backed him. The last time McCarthy made a stab at Speaker, he dropped out due to his controversial relationships with Renee Ellmers, an NC Congresswoman, and Frank Luntz, a big time lobbyist, alleged pollster, and political operator. With Ellmers, it was simply an affair with a married colleague which was very well known in Congress. With Luntz, McCarthy was his roommate, which was odd since super lobbyist Luntz who worked for big names in Big Pharma and Big Tech clearly made enough money he did not have to bunk in with womebody to hold expenses down. The relationship between McCarthy and Luntz was a lot deeper than just being roommates. Some have suggested it was also sexual, but there is no evidence of that. At minimum Luntz was a scummy dude who had way too much influence on McCarthy. After that first round, McCarthy seemed to cut his ties with Luntz, but in the last couple of months, Luntx has suddenly come back in the picture and that is very disturbing. McCarthy even made Luntz a speaker at a recent GOP House caucus meeting to advise on messaging.

The conservatives have gotten concessions from McCarthy to weaken the power of the Speaker within the caucus and give the rank and file more control. That badly needs to be done in the NC General Assembly as well since Berger and Moore are the same breed of snake as McConnell and McCarthy. Will those concessions be enough to keep McCarthy from betraying the GOP base like McConnell does regularly? Only time will tell.

The big spenders used an extremely creative, indeed Orwellian, definition of "infrastructure" for much of what was crammed into that bill. It should have been called an "inflation" bill instead, because that is more accurate to what it really was, and McCOnnell has his dirty fingerprints all over it.

McConnell organizing 60 votes for the fake "infrastructure" bill allowed Biden to keep his "reconciliation" slot open to use for the even worse "inflation reduction" bill which was actually an inflation PROduction bill.

Mitch McConnell seems to be the second coming of Benedict Arnold. The REAL Republicans were the ones who voted against both of these monstrosities and the omnibus.

While there are some common problems between the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) and the non-mRNA vaccines, the problems seem to be of a much greater order of mahnitude in the mRNA shots. Those are the ones that a statewide grand jury, approved by the state Supreme Court, is investigating. Shoddy manufacturing processes seems a common problem with all the vaccines.

Agreed. The sooner they start making some headway, the more that can be accomplished. Waiting is often not a wise strategy in politics, but their first moves need to be well thought out and be things that other members are going to be afraid to vote against. Too many of the old members seem to think they work for the superintendant instead of the other way round.

Google is very, very "woke", an enemy of free speech and privacy. No conservative should use any of its "services" all of which collect your data and sell it. Its search engine is stacked and one-sided. Better to use BraveSearch, DuckDuckGo or even Bing, all of which search engines are more honest, and BraveSearch (and to some extent DuckDuckGo) also offers privacy. Never use Google's Gmail. Protonmail is a privacy and free speech oriented option.

Kevin McCarthy, like Mitch McConnell has funded establsihment RINO GOP candidates over conservatives in primaries for years. This is not the first rodeo for either, and that is one of the big reasons that neither should be in a leadership position.

One very close to home was McCarthy pumping several million dollars into the campaign of leftie RINO Sandy Roberson for NC First District Congress against conservative Sandy Smith, who won the nominiation in spite of McCarthy. That included half a million dollars for a brutal series of personal attack ads on Smith's personal life just before the primary. Democrat Don Davis rehashed the McCarthy ads to hold off Smith in the general election.

It is hard to tell which is the biggest dirtbag between McCarthy and McConnell, but I would probably have to give that distinction to McConnell. The massive shortcomings of McConnell and McCarthy are the big reason the midterms did not go as we wanted.
