There must be, at some proper point, a resolution for the RINO infestation that now has encumbered Beaufort County politics and governing for going on two decades.

CV: You are right; it is concerning.

I was married in the Methodist Church in 1978, and was a member of Edenton Street Methodist in Raleigh until I moved my family back home here in Washington in 1984. I never attended a regular Sunday service at any Methodist church, here in Beaufort County, but I have been a member at 4 separate churches here in my county.

Now, I am settled at River City Christian Center, which is more of a charismatic congregation, loaded with good, honest, caring folks, understanding a message of salvation through grace, and good works paramount in the attainment of a higher calling on this mortal coil.

I never though the charismatic calling would suit me, but it does. It is a very sincere form of a worshipping fellowship, which is low on politics, and high on non judgemental behavior within this special congregation - perfect for me and my spouse of 47 years.

JV: I think this group that could possibly understand Lib's logic are people who operate from a prior predicate that Conservatives, aka "Normal People," are bad, mean, or wrong, and they will pontificate ad nauseum just to justify their simple position on their industrious neighbors, the backbone of our society writ large.

The education industry has woefully underserved our People, especially our tax paying people, and must be renovated brick by brick until a wall of communicated knowledge is built to train and equip our People with the skills we need to intellectually thrive.

Commented on ICE Capades

John: I met Tom well over a decade ago, and asked him to contribute to beaufortcountynow.com , which he has done, and I have noticed that the more Tom found his seasoned voice, the more he became Progressive, and now, this ICE post is rather more Leftist than most; due to its serious nature of being a constitutional imperative, one that is rooted in our basic sovereignty as a Constitutional Republic.

I like Tom Campbell well enough as a Liberal; but, I spare him no quarter on this incredibly important issue of do we remain a Nation of Laws or not.

Lib: What is about you Leftists not understanding how reality and the history of things is an important element in deriving the truth, and not some fake Democratic Socialists /propagandistic truth, but real truth?

Is it an intelligence issue, or is it an inner vision conundrum? I would love to understand this riddle, for I have a difficult time rationalizing the Leftist perspective.

Commented on ICE Capades

Tom: When ICE submits detainers to local governments' law enforcement, those detainers should be honored because of the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution.

When former sanctuary counties, such as Mecklenburg, with their county seat, Charlotte (a former sanctuary city), elect to resist federal law enforcement there will always be a problem.

The Non Patriot Left loves to ironically profess that "we are a Nation of Laws," when it suits them in subverting justice, but always fail in following laws that are beyond their ability to intellectually comprehend.

Tom: Are you a Non Patriot Leftist? Do you not believe in the Supremacy Clause, when people break our federal laws? Are we not a "Nation of Laws?" Are not Leftist governors, like Stein and Cooper, wrong about most issues simply because they unthinkingly follow the dictums of the Left as a way of solving issues?

Tom, unlike you, I only support smart politicians; I only support patriotic politicians.

I will be filing for re-election to the Beaufort County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday Morning. I am praying that this time we achieve a Conservative majority., so that we can turn the government of Beaufort County around toward a far more limited government.

The Democratic Socialists, after employing their precious Covid Initiative in Economic and Sociological Disruption, and The Summer of George to wreck the economy, in order to bring all low intellect people closer to Socialism, are now ironically stressing "affordability."

Mr. Trump's lead ambassador for the economy, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, is working diligently to turn the Broken Biden Economy around for who wish to work to participate, and thrive.

I went to Facebook today to see what the Facebook Intellensia is bemoaning about the shakeup in the City of, which was a process of me scrolling through many posts before I found what I was looking for, which took too much of my precious time, and I discovered three things, all of them interrelated:

1. Facebook's pathetic system of scrolling through individuals expressing and exposing themselves, while offering a very limited ability to search, as per subject, is not only antiquated, but suggests that there exists a dim narcissist stain upon all of the site's content, also expressed and exposed.

2. Nobody, and I mean nobody, gains any real, functional knowledge by using Facebook as a primary informational resource.

3. Regarding the Upending of Washington's City Government, which would have been far greater if the Beaufort County GOP had not thoroughly Screwed the Pooch by getting involved, far too many of those City of Washington comments relating to this discussion of abrupt governmental change, exhibited a limited knowledge of how local governments work, and, or should work.

My analysis: Education, which is already in place, needs to spread farther and wider, and the limits of Facebook just is NOT helping ... Additionally, and I reiterate: Nobody gets smarter wallowing in Facebook.

John Steed: The corrupt former City of Washington governing council is content to steal from the Good People of Washington, so let's all support the new majority of the new City Council, who are willing and capable of taking back our government, from The Corrupt, to give it back the Good People; their wise constituents that elected them to do so.

John Steed: Local county governments are impacted by Illegal Aliens by millions of local dollars per year, per government.

Then there are the free medical expenses for Illegal Aliens, which are driving up the medical expenses of all American citizens that will surely bankrupt medicaid and medicare if measures are not immediately taken.

Van Zant - I say this: One never allows these Masters of Malfeasance to cash out of anything at this point, especially when it comes off like stealing from the public. The People own the government; not the antithesis of such.

Nick: Thank-you for your straightforward, honest approach to politics, and, now, your introduction to governing, where you have done, and now are doing a masterful job governing our position.

You have begun your path to making a big difference for We, the good People of Washington, and I, as one of your constituents, do very much appreciate it, and ...

Happy Thanksgiving to all the good People of Washington. We have deserved so much better, for so very long, and now we have a very good chance of starting down that good path together.

Nick Fritz, please lead the way.

Nick Fritz is spot on, and I am proud and most honored to have had the opportunity help on his most successful campaign.

Now, We, the People, can right this long listing ship, which is the City of Washington government, and turn it, post haste, 180 degrees around.

Concerned Taxpayer: The problem with these types of contracts in Beaufort County is that Democratic socialists, and RINOs, who swap votes to share power, those who work-hand-in-iron-glove with bureaucrats to forge these documents, which may not be legitimate politically at the least, and legally at the worst.

At what point can one governing board obligate a new governing board, and be clear of the legal fall-out? This is a most fair question since this is the People's government and the People's money to fund it.

RINO Hunter: One of the largest understandings that I have gained from 25 years as a county commissioner is that corrupt practices lead to corrupt governing, which eventually leads to abject winners and losers, where the public's treasury, taken and re-distributed, was never the politicians' charge to do so if there was NO fiduciary commitment within that process of allocation.

Additionally, once there is discovery of a pattern of corrupt practices leading to great damage to the People, then the People have many avenues of recourse, as they should; many of which are political, some are judicial.

One more thing Bubba: I have talked to Lawyer Rader about doing some suing myself regarding some serious premeditated malfeasance that was fraught with all grades of incompetence.

Now that I see a political trend evolving with the City of Washington to reward some, while punishing others, it looks my case could be known as what some refer to as a SLAM DUNK.
Commented: Wednesday, November 26th, 2025 @ 9:29 am By: Stan Deatherage
I am in full agreement Bubba. As a Beaufort County Commissioner, I would threaten any fellow county commissioner to sue them independently for any action resembling premeditated malfeasance, such as what I am seeing now.

As an elected official, with a strong fiduciary to one's valued constituents, one just does not participate in these injustices to the People, the Good People who expect and deserve the diligence of serious representation.

How does one become a City Manager, and cannot endure a smidge of public criticism, probably quite constructive, from a well meaning and ambitious candidate?

Here it is: The Special Called Meeting to give away the City of Washington Taxpayers' money to appease the long standing malfeasance, that is the City of Washington's reputation by those of us in the know, armed with knowledge that will quite possibly be known by others very soon, as the new city council strips away the many layers of wanton incompetence.

The congressional redistricting of North Carolina, as a response to California's gerrymandering, actually has made the North Carolina congressional maps more representative of a geographically contiguous map of a more perfect representation for the people of North Carolina.

This Jonathan Russell character can resign whenever he wishes, however, he just canNOT receive any additional taxpayer monies until an investigation is conducted as why and how this has come to pass.

I know enough about local government to sense improprieties may be afoot, and if I, as a Beaufort County Commissioner and as a City of Washington tax payer, cannot see a purely proper governing path to this, arguably speaking, additional fleecing of the City of Washington taxpayers, I will raise a mighty and sustained objection, and I will object to the lengths of my ability to do so.

Hopefully, one day soon, we can bid good riddance to Frankie Waters and his acolyte, Randy Walker, on the Beaufort County Commission. Having said that, we real elected Republicans have gotten NO help from the Beaufort County GOP to enforce Republican values as stipulated by the Republican Party Platform.

In essence, the RINO Whisperers have been NO help whatsoever, and they will ruin the Republican brand here in Beaufort County if left unabated.

Steve: If the City Council did not take action by ratification in open session, nothing that they did in closed session is valid, and smacks of attempted fraud.

The City employee, as if he was directed to do so, misstating the governmental roles in real time of said officials is very troubling.

Local politicians are a disparate bunch.

Some are RINO Whisperers, who will do whatever it takes to aggregate power, and others are Conservatives to their core believing in the maxim that less government equals less corruption in providing essential services, and more freedom, in living life as an American citizen, is paramount in this Constitutional Republic.

I know where I stand, and it is my profound and prolonged dream that one day we can educate enough good, curious citizens, so that one day I will finally stand in the Conservative majority here in Beaufort County.
