Commented on Sample ballot: Our picks for the November electionBlack Nazi? That term fits Kamala Harris better than anyone. She wants to build executive power by castrating the Supreme Court. She wants to impose censorship to chop down free speech. She wants to rule by imperial decrees (executive orders), the same power move that Hitler made. But she needs to go back and forth between whether she is Indian or Black. The only support I have seen on the BO for Black Nazi Harris is from Bolshevik Bob.
What we need to say NO to is the despicable liberal Democrat Big Media that calls itself the MSM which makes up crap on Republicans and keeps a lid on anything harmful to Democrats. CNN is not a credible source for anything, and neither is the rest of the corrupt alphabet media.

Commented on Sample ballot: Our picks for the November electionThe school board attorney is just one of the outside contracts that Cheeseman has taken away from Beaufort County and given to people outside of the county. He pushed out the local attorney who had served for many years as local school board attorney, and never sought anyone local to take her place. He got his yes-men and yes-women on the school board to agree to bring in this Durham Democrat who he had previously brought in to Chowan County.
But lets look at some of the other contracts taken away from local people by Cheesemen and approved by his flunkies on the school board. One was for grounds maintenance which was taken from a local company that had held it for a long time and was doing a good job and turned over to a Pitt County company. Then there was the website contract taken from a local company doing a good job and given at a considerably higher cost to an out of state company. This seems to be Cheeseman's MO. It is disgusting that our elected school board sat there fat, dumb, and happy and let Cheeseman take jobs away from local people to give them to his buddies outside Beaufort County.

There is so much that needs improvement in our schools, why is Cheeseman spinning his wheels piddling in politics?
Seems like before Cheeseman, we always had a local attorney as our School Board attorney. Why go so far out of town?

Bobbie has succinctly stated the attitude of FEMA under Biden, Harris, and Mayorkas, but don't forget Kamala's one time payment of $750 when banks and stores aren't working to use it, while illegal aliens are being paid $2,500 a month.

FEMA has pre-staged for every major hurricane for decades but not for this one. The Republican governors of Florida and Georgia pre-staged. Florida, even though hit hard itself, got personnel to North Carolina's mountains to help a couple of days before FEMA did.
Republican legislators from all over the state, including from the east like Rep. Kidwell and Sen. Hanig have been up helping out in the mountains, but few, if any of their Democrat counterparts have. Indeed Mark Robinson took off from the campaign trail to go help out, something Roy Cooper and Josh Stein have not.

If FEMA has money then why did Mayorkas say it did not? Isn't that a bit weird?
If FEMA had money and was competently led, why did they not pre-stage supplies, equipment, and personnel like FEMA always has in the past for major storms? The Republican governors of Florida and Georgia did that pre-staging and it made for great storm response in those states. In fact, help from hard hit Florida in the form of Florida National Guard and rescue teams arrived in western North Carolina to help us before FEMA did. And there you go falsely playing the race card again. Illegal aliens are of many races, including white. What sets them apart is not race but the fact that they are foreigners who do not belong in our country. Legal immigrants are also of many races, but have been vetted and approved. There is a massive difference. Taxpayers should not be subsidiZing lawbreaking by illegal aliens. Hurricane Helene shows how Democrats cannot govern. North Carolina Democrat Roy Cooper was like FEMA and did not pre-stage for the response. It was the Republican governors who had their acts together in a robust response.

Commented on Sample ballot: Our picks for the November electionIn the governor's race, it is simply a matter of the lesser of the evils. A flawed opportunist like Robinson is better than an extreme leftist like Josh Stein (or should it be Frankenstein, maybe he shortened the familty name). Stein is an open borders amnesty whore while Robinson seems okay on immigration issues. Stein favors allowing biological boys on girls sports teams and in girls restrooms and locker rooms. Robinson opposes that. Issue after issue, Stein is very wrong for North Carolina. Issues happen to matter more than personalities.
What of the minor party options? The only two that conservatives would consider are the Constitution Party and Libertarian Party. The Constitution Party candidate received a zero score from gun rights advocates and has had nothing to say about immigration. He is not trustworthy on issues. The Libertarian candidate did score very strong on gun rights but is silent on immigration and his party is historically for open borders. Even considering minor parties, Robinson, flawed though he is, still is a less bad choice than anyone else on the ballot for governor.

Those pictures and others I have seen are terrible. My mothers' family is from the NC mountains and I can imagine how those narrow valleys flood easily. If someone will provide a reliable organization providing storm assistance, I will be happy to send a check. There is a great video from a Charlotte meterologist toward the bottom of the linked article that explains what is happening so far in the recovery. It looks like the biggest problem is logistics in getting thing into the hard hit areas; redstate.com
Speaking of political figures, I see that Joe Biden is relaxing on the beach trying to explain why he is not in action monitoring the situation and helping and Kamala Harris interrupted her California fundraising junket briefly and staged a photo of her supposedly getting briefed by FEMA with a blank pad in front of her and her earbuds not even plugged into the phone that was on the table.

That is a massive attack on free speech. Commented on Beaufort Superintendent and School Board majority deleted Founding Fathers from curriculum requirements"True Republican", you missed an important part of my questions. Why should a conservative county in eastern NC, whose school board is at least nominally Repubican, hire someone as school board attorney who is a partisan activist of the Democrat Party in one of the most leftwing counties in the state?
If you look at school board attorneys across the state, you will find most of them are local, and those that are not are mostly in adjoining counties. If no one in Beaufort County who is qualified wants the job, there would be plenty of attorneys in Pitt or Craven counties who might. We need people who think like eastern North Carolinians, not like residents of the Peoples Republic of Durham. Cheeseman has apparently brought this same Durham-based attorney into one previous eastern NC school district where Cheeseman worked. The idea is apparently that he will be the superintendant's attorney primarily rather than the board's attorney as he should be.

Commented on Beaufort Superintendent and School Board majority deleted Founding Fathers from curriculum requirementsBeaufort County is now one of the few counties in the state, and perhaps the only county, not to have some requirement in local school board policy of teaching our founding principles as part of the curriculum. PUtting this in local policy is important because many school systems have a habit of not following state statute even when there is a reporting requirement to the legislature.
A good example of that is on teaching cursive writing which is also required by state statute, and county school systems are required to report they are doing it. A number have learned that they can just fail to report at all and nothing will happen. Others regularly report they are teaching cursive writing when in fact they are not. In Beaufort County Schools, they file reports saying they are teaching it, and some teachers do and some don't. Here in Beaufort County we have too many students graduating who cannot even sign their name even though they are supposed to be fluent in reading and writing in cursive before leaving elementary school under state statute. It is because so many local school systems laugh at state staturory requirements that do not happen to be in favor at NCDPI. that it is essential that these requirements be placed in local policy. This excuse for deleting this material came from the school board's very liberal Durham-based attorney, who was also interjecting other excuses to water down what the conservatives on the board were trying to do. One wonders why a majority-Republican school board in conservative Beaufort County would not hire a local attorney to represent them, and why go all the way to Durham. That is particularly true since their school board attorney is presently or has recently served as vice chairman of the Durham County Democratic Party, one of the most leftwing units of the Democrat Party in North Carolina. Well, "True Republican", what do you think of this nominally Republican school board majority hiring a liberal Democrat Party activist from half way across the state as our local school board attorney? Hint: he was recommended by Superintendabt Cheeseman.

That despicable goon LInsey Davis then shifted gears in her response to current law, which was very dishonest. She also missed that in Tim Walz' Minnesota, the law had already been changed with Walz' support to say that if a baby was born alive in a botched abortion, doctors were not required to give it any treatment. They may not be able to actively kill it, but they could let it die on its own by failing to treat it. Lindsey Davis is no better than Josef Goebbels in her false propaganda.
