Joe Davis is a business man and has some for site. Beaufort County is losing population. What could help? Our very mishandled and deteriorated School system could be corrected so that we could become the bedroom community for Greenville. Schools are the first thing that young couples look for to move into a community. As for retirees, we need GP's and convenience. Where are the jobs? Warren Field was to become the Drone development center for the East Coast. What an opportunity with the new demand for more war machinery and the interest in Drone development for law and private industries. What happened? Drumman came sniffing around after the air-port expansion. Who followed up? What a chance for jobs. We have 25 boat builders in a 35 mile radius of Washington. Are we taking advantage of this opportunity? Chocowinity has an industrial park with a rail track running through it. This is like water-front property for heavy industry. They can't get together on what to do with it.

The uninformed voter is one of our biggest enemies. With all of the infighting and inuendoes where does the average person find the truth. Then we have new-commers, those who have been out of touch for years and Igysobs (I've got you now you SOB) out to get even rather than build our community. Our one goal should be, "What is good for the people" and who can deliver.

What is the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care. That is one of our major problems. The uninformed electorate.

All the markings of a Rino. I only got to shake hands with him at another meeting, and it was not manly handshake. We need strength in Raleigh.

This is a confused age. It has been confused by our teachers educated in liberal Universities and our liberal media. The Church is the only place young people can find correct true direction. We need to teach that the bible is a "Handbook for Success".

Question?
When they cross state lines can that state pull their license?

Truncated from previous article:
So what is the primary obstacle? In my view, it is our school system. Private and charter schools can play a role, but the real need is a return to strong, efficient public schools—strategically located and grounded in solid, traditional curricula. Young, productive families will not relocate to an area with a struggling school district.
Continued spending on Main Street and the waterfront alone will not solve this. What we need is a broader, more integrated vision for economic development, education, and quality of life. It is encouraging to see that at least three of our new City Council members appear to be advocating for this long-needed approach.
As the proverb reminds us: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

This is an excellent and timely report from Nick Fritz. Washington and Beaufort County truly stand at the threshold of long-term success—if we can align around the right leadership and a shared vision.
I strongly believe in synergism. If our City Council, County Commission, and Economic Development Commission could work in concert rather than in silos, we could make meaningful progress for both the city and the county. Consider the assets already in place: within a 30-mile radius of Washington, there are approximately twenty-five boat builders. Our airport was once positioned to become a drone development center for the East Coast—what happened to that opportunity? With our waterfront, natural beauty, and quality of life, Washington should be an attractive bedroom community for Greenville.
So what is the primary obstacle? In my view, it is our school system. Private and charter schools can play a role, but the real need is a return to strong, efficient public schools—strategically loca

After all these years and tons of evidence, videos and whistle blowers, I don't see people going to jail. Mile Lindell was sued for exposing the real truth.

Glad to hear from our Bath Parent that all kids in Beaufort County are learning Cursive. Wonder if we could get some help for the 65% of our students who are not at Math and reading Level? How are we doing on multiplication tables? I bet they know a lot about DEI. A little help with real American History would be good too.

A great record of real practical experience and background to make decisions in County Government. Wisdom is applied knowledge, and we need good common sense with our local leaders. Travis has pointed out some of the pressing needs in Beaufort County and he knows many more. He also represents an area that has been neglected by ignorance of the needs for that end of the County. Travis is an honest and conscientious individual who would make a great addition to our County Commission. I hope the people on the South side of the river will get behind Travis and make him one of our commissioners.

Stein is just toeing the party line. This "Party over people" has got to stop.
And the only way we have to stop it is to vote the rascals out. There is no Democratic Party. A radical socialist takeover has replaced it. To maintain their individual power, they still have hangers-on like Stein.

Conservative Voter: I agree. We do have strong candidates running for the City Council. Have you looked at your new tax bill, electric bill, potholes, drainage problems? But we have a great outhouse on the waterfront and a wonderful Main St. with no parking. No real long-range plan that I have seen. Then look at from Third Street North. We do have candidates with business sense running this time. Let's hope we can get out the vote.

Befuddled: You are right. We have the opportunity to become the Drone Development Center for the East Coast, Possible Rail development in Chocowinity, One of the largest phosphate deposits in the world, and could be the bedroom community for Greenville NC and look who is steering the ship. We need a real school board, County Commission and City Council. What is the plan for Washington? I wonder if the Camber, EDC, County Commission and City Council have ever had a collective meeting to work on synergism to bring us out of obscurity and stop losing people out of our county. We need capable candidates! Then, this group could have some clout to talk to our next line of authority. We need businesspeople at the helm. Our President is a great example.

Whatley was not an effective leader for the GOP in North Carolina. I don't see the real fire in his belly to do the job we need to follow up on Trump's agenda. I think the President was misinformed on this one. With all that he has going on, it would be hard to call all local races correctly. Brown is an educated streetfighter. Just what we need to overcome the weak-kneed mess, we will have to deal with the Democrats.

The "No King" people and the "Loony Left" do not understand that "all Government Control" is "King Control". When the Government finally takes over, we can expect Voltaire's cycle of history, “History is only the pattern of silken slippers descending the stairs to the thunder of hobnailed boots climbing upward from below.”

Many people who are screaming Fascism do not know what it means.
The word "fascism" originates from the Italian fascio, meaning "bundle" or "group", and is derived from the ancient Roman fasces, a symbol of state authority and unity.
Fascism is an authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology that emphasizes a dictatorial leader, the suppression of opposition, and strict societal and economic control. It gained prominence in 20th-century Europe, particularly in Italy under Benito Mussolini and Germany under Adolf Hitler. Now the Left is using it as a slang term to demean anyone who is pro-Trump or anyone they do not like. Most of them are unfamiliar with the real meaning.

Conservative voter; why does Cheeseman still have a job? Because the weak school board has not learned that Cheeseman is hired help. Look at the School Board meeting video, and you will see Cheeseman sitting up front with the Chairman, reading the rules for the School Board Meeting.
He should be sitting with the staff instead of whispering in the ear of the Chairman, who only acts at the consent of Cheeseman. Where are the school board assignments and his reporting back? Look at unfilled curricula for over a year. 35% of your children are at reading level in Beaufort County. Has he met all of the State Board of Education's requirements for the year? The Board does not know. Is he a demographer? No. But he decided on the size and location of the new Boondoggle K-3 School in the wrong location. The list goes on. Why does he have a job?

Our thanks to Beaufort Community College's Small Business Division, headed up by Jack Dugan. They have performed a real community service with extensive seminars on how to run, promote, and grow a small business. I would encourage all to stop by and see what has become a very unusual and eclectic collection of merchandise done with professional presentations.
