Commented on Making Republican SausageAnyone attending the county convention this summer saw the Carolyn & Kidwell show. The mtg began at 9 and lasted until 3'ish due to shenanigans of these 2. NO lunch was served and those attending were required to stay the entire period to vote for county officers. Enough left to keep the chair vote safe.

Commented on Another Political Campaign BeginsFrankie Waters announced today he's giving up his seat due to health reasons. There's a new open seat for 2026.
I expect School Bd to see several challenges to Davis, both in the party and/or other party unless party affiliations take place.

Commented on Some Refreshing Change at School Board MeetingsA local atty should be in-place and serve as counsel to the Board. Most, if not all school systems operate in this way and/or have their own in-house counsel. Boards, as needed, hire outside counsel on specific issues and needs, on a case-by-case basis. THE board should hire the local atty.
Billy Mayo was County atty and then Francisco. IF the Bd has local counsel why can't the BOE? City has Holscher as local atty. As for contracts, I will disagree with most here likely in that I believe conflict of interest prevents an elected official and/or their company from providing services. That's my take and my opinion. And with that being said, we find BOE and BOC with husband/wife members serving. And with the BOE we have family members in the school system. The reason I don't worry so much now about the above matters are new board members who seem to be interested in children, the schools, the community and education rather than enriching themselves.

Commented on Some Refreshing Change at School Board MeetingsWilliams has been on the BOE for how many years and has had the opportunity to change the outside atty? Only NOW is there ANY discussion and all brought about by changes to the BOE, specifically Mr. Radar.
Am I correct?

Commented on Opioid Settlement FundsLest we forget who hijacked the convention this summer in an attempt to have attendees leave after hours and hours of theatrics. No lunch was served and the convention ended at 3'ish.
Kidwell and Garris. There are board members who return calls and actually answer calls when made. So don't broad brush all the board members as not communicating. Garris and Kidwell over-stepped to 'act' for the party. Individually and personally, they are free to give their opinions. They 'jumped' on this situation very quickly but so have others. Not very difficult to understand what is occurring here. It's a 'pile-on' gop-style. The dems would circle wagons and bring out swords and knives. Wish Garris and Kidwell cared for many financial matters and dealings b/w the county and the city; actual tax $$$.

For the record, I'm not addressing opposition to the school being built but the process.
My taxes and valuation continue to increase; actually spike. I'm in no mood to foolishly spend tax dollars in this way.

Commented on Our Fearless Predictions: Trump wins, Republicans keep the House and regain the Senate.Obviously, Bob, you don't get MY POINT.
MY POINT IS, and I think you know but just want to be obstinate. ANY USA state should have ALL votes counted on election night, period. Early votes ALREADY TABULATED. Election day VOTES can't be counted on election night?? WHY? absentee, overseas, service votes HAVE NEVER decided an election... Fla and hanging chads took the election out a period. Bush/Gore was that close.

On that we can all agree. Again, 3rd world countries vote MILLIONS and know the results that day. We are so electronically savvy, developed we cannot as a country. Right, prove what point?

Commented on Our Fearless Predictions: Trump wins, Republicans keep the House and regain the Senate.Absolutely bull. Florida, Texas, MAJOR US states can count ballots before midnight. Most states can and do. The ONES that don't, gives everyone pause regardless of party.
WE ARE THE USA. It's ridiculous. 3rd world countries count ballots quicker and more efficient than the USA.

$10....suppose BOb doesn't realize manufacturing, transport, trucking, farming, FOOD DEPENDS on that crack $10/gallon. How stupid...Perhaps HE should be the one that is punished, penalized with NO FOOD.
How does Bob think seniors on fixed income pay for heating fuel this winter or suppose he would have them freezing to death.....

Speedway (7-11) on east side is the dirtiest store in Beaufort Co. It's a trap for beach traffic. Stopped supporting long ago b/c of the gouging. You could go in & the cashiers never acknowledged you and kept talking, usually drama about another employee. 7-11 should SELL the stores.
Once Royal Farms opens, will be my go-to. At least clean and attempt to keep their stores/lots/pumps well-cleaned and lit. The Duck-Thru at Mkt/15th, another establishment that cares less about cleanliness.

Commented on The Robinson affair - is it fact or fiction? As of yesterday, in every poll available, Stein is UP 7% to 10%.
MR WILL NOT win this battle. I don't care how many stars he has. He should have withdrawn. The $$$ battle at the nutrition business is fraud. That is not going away. The bookkeeping, record keeping, the falsified info about family members in the business is not going way. MR is destroying the ticket. Down balloting needs STRONG support at the top. Our Council of state is at risk And the Gen Assemblly leadership (who support MR) are doing nothing. MR is NOT a Jesse Helms. He can't offset. His only pushback is DENIAL. Stein is running a Jesse-type campaign. I'll give him credit He is DESTROYING MR on the air and now tying MR to Trump. The NC COP is a mighty weak party and are kowtowing to the dems (by choice or inactivity).

Commented on The Robinson affair - is it fact or fiction?IF these allegations were false, Robinson would be suing and have restraining orders applied.
He has NOT offered one instance of opposition to these allegations, OTHER than, it's a lie. There are MAJOR allegations, in many facets of his personal life, business life and political life. Robinson should have resigned wks ago but after last wk, immediately. He should END his candidacy. This STATE is ABOVE and MORE IMPORTANT than HIM. He CANNOT win this election. I expect a dripping affect to allegations and it will continue, daily and weekly. Folwell was a GREAT candidate and his service to THIS STATE is impeccable. HE should become the candidate. Stein will walk into the gov mansion for 4Y and likely 8Y. Do you realize how much damage will be done in 4Y and/or 8Y????????
