Commented on A Cruel Promise

Van Zant: In decades past, all the real Republicans in Beaufort County had was the tiny Republican party guarding our backs, as we fought off the Liberal majority, who made "bipartisan" just another pejorative for "DO IT OUR WAY SUCKERS!"

Now, the Beaufort County GOP is infiltrated by RINOs, who rose to the top of their pathetic ladder leading to the celebration of a coalition with ardent Leftists to share power, and for what?

To stupidly spend tens of millions of the public's money into the waste of an illogical "progress" that could be defined only in terms of, 'we care so much more.'

Stan: You have presented the crux of it: These fools do presume to tell the real Republicans how to elect commissioners. In fact, they presume to impose upon us all their salvation from limited voting in the form of their alternative which will be just as bad and is likely to give THEM even more control of the process. With this kind of thinking the average citizen is likely to be just as powerless, but his local masters will likely be MORE powerful. Yes, a real recipe for disaster.

Biggest story of the past four decades that the mainstream media hates to cover. The GOP is the natural home to people that immigrated here to escape sociakism and for social conservatives.

CBDC is something we definitely do NOT want but if the World Economic Forum gets there way (Build Back Better slogan), we can kiss America goodbye. What does Klaus Schwab say "you'll own NOTHING and be happy!" THEY will be happy but not the average person. Hello AI and goodbye people!!!

It cannot come too soon. Theonly positive thing McConnell ever did was prevent the confirmation of Merrick Garland. If you want to know the true definition of an establishment RINO as opposed to the personality clashes in the county its McConnell. He's enabled every piece of socialist trash for over two decades.

Van Zant: The Beaufort County GOP is a total wash-out; however, they do work well for the RINO class, which was no where to be to found when the local party was built, because, at that time, they were then Democrats supporting Democrats - many of whom still are, just wearing the faux Republican cloak as an appropriated luxury of their image of grand fakery.

When the real Republicans built the local GOP from nearly nothing in decades past:

Almost three decades ago, the real Republicans worked diligently to initiate the filming of the commissioners' meetings as a real public service, which, in the stark truth of reality, revealed the true nature of how sorry some commissioners performed, including the emerging RINO class. Eventually the chief RINO, Frankie Waters, of this local faux and current GOP did what any good Democrat-who-switched-to-Republican-to-run-for-public-office-who-then-governed-as-a-Liberal-Democrat would do, "Fake Frankie" tried to kill the videography of the Beaufort County Commissioners' meetings ... transparency be damned.

With Stan Deatherage, ME, rejoining Commissioner Hood Richardson back on the board of commissioners, and bolstering the efforts to wrest this shard from the complete power paradigm of RINO Frankie, the all encompassing RINO was unsuccessful in his efforts in the complete destruction of this perfect transparency in Beaufort County's process of the People's government - the continued proper filming of Beaufort County's self-governing process.

Consequently, unbridled insanity is to allow these RINO fools the power to force feed the real Republicans of Beaufort County, those who are far more knowledgeable on so many levels, as to how to elect county commissioners here in OUR long standing home of Beaufort County ... NO!

Not as long as I draw good breath.

There is nothing good coming from the petition being passed around by that clique that runs the Beaufort County Republican Party.

There is no organized party in Beaufort County looking out for John Q. Public in this voting system debate or anything else. They are all working for their own individual self-interests. That is just one of the reasons why I choose not to involve myself with the Beaufort County Republican Party. There are plenty of other reasons too: They hate conservatives. I'm conservative. They hate native southerners. I'm native southern. A small sample example. Screw them, too. That is that with local Repubs. The Democrats abandoned John Q. Public long ago.

I do not support any voting system that does not respect individual citizens. I imagine it would take the business end of a gun barrel to get these crooks to arrive at a point advantageous to the citizens in general. In the meantime, I'm not holding my breath waiting for something good from that crowd.

As for the process I do believe that if the referendum was to pass and there wanted to be a change to it to create two-year terms, the process would be to get the 5,000 signatures for new referendum to change it to two yearterms and then have that referendum pass. I think the only other way around that is a state statute but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Stan, you may be able to comment on that but I'm pretty sure that's the correct process.

I'd also wager any amount of money that you've never personally met me. That's pretty much how it goes for 90% of the people who post negative things about me so I'm used to it and it comes with the territory of speaking your mind and not being afraid to cower to the left or the far right.

Well citizen X when you have any proof of anything I've ever said that's hate filled I'd be happy to hear it. If you consider calling corrupt officials out as hate failed then guilty as charged. When you have poor folks in the city of Washington that can't even get vouchers but you have a Housing Authority run by the mayor's wife that take trips every year for hundreds of dollars a night rooms at hotels for so-called affordable housing while kicking people out of their homes days before Christmas hate-filled then guilty as charged. For all the talk of how horrible a person I was as a candidate I actually got more votes as a city council member running as a republican than the history of Washington but due to the very high turnout I did not cross the finish line though got very close 60 votes short. Stan and I agree on almost everything when it comes to political issues. Our only difference is on Hood who I consider a hate monger and an embarrassment to the party. We are certainly entitled to your views though I certainly can tell by your post that you do not have any of the interests of the Republican Party or moderate Democrats and unaffiliate voters in mind so I think I'll pass on your advice. I'll choose to continue to promote business growth in Beaufort County a better quality of life cleaner environment and lower taxes. I'm also not going to back down from bullies and those that think that they are entitled to government action or to privileges as part of the martini sipping crowd.

Citizen X: Not to worry; as two very different people, The Hood and I will always be solid out of a mutual respect factor, and that foxhole factor of familiarity that goes beyond everything stereotypical; passes all manner of understanding for many folks.

I sometimes like to joke about how The Hood and I followed the Grateful Dead for some years, like a couple of swirling hippies with stars projecting from our eyes.

The truth of the matter is that I never followed the Grateful Dead.

Some have raised concerns that the broad definitions of the activities would criminalize church security teams, gun training endeavors and firearm ranges, and other private actions.

Gary Ceres who never hesitates to spread his warped & hate filled vendetta on public platforms, reminds me of the high school mean girls who make fun & games, while using their "Stinking Thinking" to bring strife and division to the vulnerable public, & in particularly Stan Deatherage, whom they think is so weak, that their words can turn Stan against his friend, & fellow conservative, Hood Richardson.

WHY th local GOP party, hav appointed Ceres 2 be their appointed liaison & representative, to assist 2024 candidates, is a mystery to me. Surely, they can see that he does not have an honest and fair-minded personality to do that job properly. His actions reflect poorly on the local party. He should resign or be fired.

Gary Ceres: Influence others for that at large plan, proposed by Hood, to elect the chairman and vice chairman.

This election plan would kill the Center-Left Coalition, a coalition that is absolutely forbade in the Republican Platform at every level of GOP organization: county, state and national committee.

That is just the real of it.

The totalitarians are trying to get their foot in the door to take your guns without due process. This bad idea needs to be destroyed before it gets expanded. The arrogance of Fuehrer Biden in doing this by degree without going through Congress just reeks of a dictatorship mentality.

The very worst system is the one we have now, called limited voting. It is the same concept that the Red Chinese proposed in their negotiations with the British for the Hong Kong election system after the handover, and the British rejected as totally undemocratic. It is also a system that the appellate courts in the US have ruled cannot be imposed by a judge as a remedy in a Voting Rights case, unless all parties agree to it.

A true at-large plan with voters have full voting rights for all seats would need all the seats to run at the same time to pass muster with voting rights challenges. That is how the old Washington City School board was set up, during the period it had to get DOJ preclearance, and it passed with flying colors.

It is also true that four year staggered terms is absolutely the very worst thing you could have in terms of accountability and responsiveness of elected officials, because it always has about half the board with an intervening election before their seat comes up again. That means voters are likely to forget anything they do in the first two years of their term when they come up for election again.

There are plusses and minuses to both a district plan and a true at-large plan, but either is light years better than what we have now.
