Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingI think Mr. Melton should be considered for the city council post. But with all due respect for Mr. Melton, I think Mrs. Clark was the next highest vote getter in the recent election.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingOn the subject of Mansions paying for their selves...
We all know that Kings and Queens and Nobles of Europe had to open up their Mansions and Castles to tourist to help pay for their upkeep. It is known history that those Nobles of Europe often resorted to marrying the daughters of fabulously wealthy men of America. You do what you have to do. Compromise. The question to Washington, is do yu want these beautiful old Mansions of Washington to survive or not? They can pay for themselves if we let them. Mr Rorie should assist the City govt and its citizens to try thinking "out of the box." The elitist of Washington, should try living on my street for a few days. I have to tolerate PROGRESS, they should too.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingThe one who has public credibility and moral authority to fill the vacancy is the top candidate from November who campaigned on the same agenda as Nick Fritz, and that is Tex Melton. If Wyman wanted to be on the council, he should have run then. It is immoral and a slap in the face of the voters to put him in instead of elevated Melton.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingNick Fritz was ready to rip the bandaid off the waste, the corruption, and the abject governmental ignorance that has haunted the City of Washington for decades.
Roland, are you going to be that guy? Can you supplant Nick and fend off the Leftist fools, who sincerely struggle with reality? We need what is real running the City of Washington, because that quality has been sorely lacking for far too long.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingMr. Wyman, the biggest issue for most citizens is cutting spending and taxes. We have been gouged by the Sadler regime and we need a change. I notice that you do not address taxes and spending and that concerns me. I concur about the importance of our 2nd Amendment rights, but I have seen too many liberals try to wrap themselves around that while supporting the rest of the liberal agenda.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingIf Washington is a City of Hate, when/how did that happen?
Was it always here? Did the internet reveal it,or did Facebook. Facebook made it possible for birds of a feather to spread their gossip for good or bad. People living in a bubble can become very self-righteous. Why are old people, who r growing older, so upset about a glorious celebration of young people getting married, who may decide to settle down in Washington? Does that really make them miserable to witness? I say live and let live. Show a little humanity. Maybe compromise a little. Maybe one week day event and one weekend event would be fair? If some of these ppl would take a look at the conditions some of us have to accept surrounding our homes they would be ashamed of themselves for being so stingy. If these beautiful vintage homes cant b maintained then what? A future ghetto? Its possible u know...Washington isnt growing...but a welcoming attitude might b the cure. Hey City Manager, can u explain reality to th crabs.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingI'm Roland Wyman. Someone mentioned me in one or two comments. Sorry I gave the wrong impression, but I AM NOT a Liberal... far from it. I was not part of the Sadler group and further, I was not even involved in government during his tenure. The only reason I am not a registered Republican is that there are aspects of their national platform that I don't agree with. There is nothing about Liberals that I agree with. I just wanted to set the record straight. I hold the Constitution dear and fought for it during the late '60s. I believe strtongly in 2A. I was a marksman and I have carried concealed since leaving the military.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingWhen Perrault ran for council, he told us he was on the tax cut team. Now he seems to have switched teams to the tax-and-spend team, coached by Comrade Tyre. If Perrault is to have any future credibility, he needs a quick course correction back to the course he assured voters he would take. He has been lambasting his own team mate while buddying up to the coach of the opposing team. Can he spell B-E-N-E-D-I-C-T A-R-N-O-L-D ?

3.3% inflation while at war, a war that restricts the distribution of oil, is a good number.
Paying a little more right now for goods is not such a bad thing, and the very least we citizens can do to contribute.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingWell I watched the City Council meeting Monday. Every miserable torturous minute of it. Its like being waterboarded for hours.
Worse yet, I am totally FED UP with Horton and Perreault huddled-up throwing all-knowing eyes at each other, Perreault eyeballing his favorite supporter in the audience, & furthermore, the both of them sharing glances, nods, eyerolling, smirking, & sighing every time Davis speaks. Brabo should try looking to her left because those two are chatting and carrying on like two fifth graders sitting in the back of the room, mocking their teacher (Davis). I am witnessing the kind of petty sick hate for a fellow ELECTED member, that I never thought I would see from those Council chairs. ALL citizens should watch it! Try Youtube. HOW Embarrassing for ALL Washington Citizens. When did we become the City of Hate?

The despicable power play being tossed around by the Democrats is to have the legislature reduce the retirement age of Supreme Court justices to something like 52, so they can create vacancies they can fill with their own political hacks. That tells you about all you need to know about today's Democrat Party,

Commented on anti-immigration Reform Party winning English local elections in apparent landslide UPDATEIt is the illegal immigration issue driving the rise of Farage and the Reform Party. The Conservative Party has talked a good game at times, but not delivered on stopping the boats. Farage, who is remembered as the architect of Brexit has a reputation for getting things done. When he promises mass deportation, he has the credibility that no other party leader has.
Yeah, the Brits DO need their country back.

Commented on UN's IPCC climate panel finally admits that doomsday climate scenarios are "implausible"There have been hundreds of dire predictions by the climate alarmists that have already passed the time they were supposed to happen, but not a single one of them has ever come true. The climate alarmists have never been anything but liars and scaremongers. People should have figured that out after the Climategate emails were revealed because they showed them to be total scammers and liars.

Commented on Reminder: Scheduled City Council MeetingThe City of Washington’s Board of Adjustment has revoked the special use permit for the Ell Hotel, owned by Mayor Ellen Brabo, citing zoning violations.
www.witn.com It would be nice if the Board of Adjustment was consistant about enforcing Zoning Regs in Washington. They recently approved a City landfill in an Airport District. They also approved a waste site in a city residential area operated by a business. It appears they are just rubber stamps for the Planning Dept. In Washington, its not what...but WHO you are that matters.

Commented on Henry Hinton: "NCAE teachers union rally in Raleigh was like a communist / left wing rally".VZ, this one does not fall in the lap of the party leadership. It was orchestrated by a liberal on the present school board who masquerades as a "Republican". that is Carolyn Walker. She recruited one of those candidates and backed both. She and her husband Randy, another fake "Republican" spent most ot the day at the joint Chocowinity / Gilead polling place smearing two conservative incumbents who were running, Charles Hickman and Steven Rader.
If we want a conservative school board, the top agenda item in 2028 is to primary and remove Carolyn Walker from the board. She is the liberal kingpin there.

Commented on Henry Hinton: "NCAE teachers union rally in Raleigh was like a communist / left wing rally".Well, how DID the local GOP get saddled with two members of a far-left organization as "Republican" nominees for the school board? It's really harmful how the party leaders controlling things now are so invested in their fanatical war against conservatives while at the same time chumming up to Democrat infiltrators swarming the GOP. Maybe if they could possibly get their priorities straight, they might think about vetting candidates. Then again maybe this is just what they are.
