Michael Whatley has the personal appeal of a mashed potato sandwich, and the Supreme Court candidate chosen by this bunch has even less appeal. The NCGOP needs to do better if it wants to win, and I have a novel idea, Why not leave the selection to an open primary of GOP voters instead of trying to handpick favorites?

It is easy to see how the GOP elites sway the machinations of the GOP. They rig the state party conventions in many ways to prevent the grassroot republicans from having any influence over the outcomes. The Plan of Organization is ignored or overridden by parliamentary procedures; attendees are shutdown from speaking by ruling comments or motions from the floor ruled out of order, and counting votes for chairman and other officers from members not in attendance.
Participates are discouraged from attending by charging exorbitant fees to attend the many functions they have during the three days. When you add the three nights hotel expenses and travel, it can easily cost $800 to attend and participate in all the functions.
Why attend if your vote is going to count even though you are not in attendance?

The insiders are indeed trying to rig the game on our nominees. The best way to spell loser is W-H-A-T-L-E-Y. We need to keep this seat and to do it we need a nominee that is something other than a warmed over Tillis. At least we have someone else to vote for in that one. It does not look like we will on the Supreme Court seat, and we desperately need a nominee who is stronger than the one the insiders want to foist upon us.

The new city council needs to remember that the city manager is their employee, NOT their boss. If he gets too big for his britches, send him packing. We have too many arrogant bureaucrats in local government in our county, anyway. It is high time to start replacing some of them. What a great election result. We now have council members who understand how business actually works and the impact excessive taxes have on real people.

Washingtonian: Good questions; however, I have been told by the three members of the Tax Cut Team that they will listen to me, and will learn whatever worthwhile I can impart.

As a Beaufort County Commissioner, I have developed a firm reputation as a free agent, and well knowledgeable about all levels of governing, and I promise that I will be paying close attention to the City of Washington to make sure there is a solid turn to the light of truly doing the People's business, which they have not for years.

Since NYC has gone communist, maybe we should just cede it to the UN, which has its headquarters there and let them run it. Build a wall around it and have a secure border with the place. Without NYC, the rest of the state would probably vote Republican. Let the UN have this hellhole. With a communist government, we should not want it.

We in NC need to remember that we have a Democrat Socialist Soros Justice on our NC Supreme Court up for reelection this year, Anita "ANTIFA" Earls, who needs to be defeated.

I hope they can get the goods on Soros in this NYC election scheme to lock him away for the rest of his miserable life, along with his various operatives in his organizations, and use RICO to strip their assets. It is not surprising that Soros is backing the rabidly anti-Jewish Mamdani, given that Soros himself has a history as a Nazi collaborator as a child in his native Hungary during World War II. Although born into a Jewish family, Soros has long been an atheist himself.

Stan: I know for a fact that the 'Forest woman' in her time as a county Republican officer publicly slandered you and the other two conservative commissioners as well as several conservative school board members. Why the heck was she not brought up on party disloyalty charges? It was common knowledge with lots of witnesses.

In recent years the Beaufort County GOP has been disgusting. I hear there are a few more good people on the committee this time. Let's hope they can turn this thing around some. They've got a long way to go to restore community trust.

I talk to a lot of people that wonder why the Beaufort County Republican Party seems to be so anti-conservative. It's not really a question. It's a fact backed by strong evidence. The party seems to be constantly at odds with long time conservative commissioners Deatherage and Richardson. At the same time, they give preferential treatment to former Democrats Waters and Walker. They're the ones that changed their registrations to run for office. Both of the former Democrats allied with the Democrats when they got on the board. The party didn't even mind when Waters continued to write checks to Democrat candidates.

Which leads me to Commissioner Dunn: The Party leaders tried to kick him of the executive committee for disloyalty. He was exonerated by higher powers, because he was guilty of nothing. The county Republican Party had no problem with members Waters, Cox, and Varcoe writing checks for and or publicly endorsing Democrats. The party also had no problem with that loose cannon Forest woman campaigning against Republicans and FOR Democrats at Republican Headquarters while serving as a Republican officer!

Lately, the Republican Chairwoman and a Republican officeholder have publicly attacked a conservative Republican school board member while acting as if they ARE the Beaufort County GOP!

I also hear that a shadowy kingmaker committee loosely attached to the county Republican executive committee is planning for "victory" against conservative Republicans in the upcoming Republican primaries.

There's a lot more to this. Stay tuned.

If you want to know what it feels like to be invisible, just try to make contact with an elected official, or for that matter, even a candidate for office.
Even locally they completely ignore WeThePpl as if we just werent worth their time and energy.
How is it that an elected person or candidate in a town of less than 10,000 citizens, doesnt have any spare time to talk w a fellow citizen and voter???
If a candidate doesnt have time for you before an election, he/she damn sure wont have time for you after they are elected.
I emailed several City candidates and got zero response.
Why are they so afraid of WeThePpl? Or is it just contempt for us?
