That despicable scoundrel Tillis refuses to back conservative Republicans for key positions but then backs a crooked liberal Democrat to keep her job although clearly her corruption impacts the very job she is supposed to do. We need to be rid of Tillis, and also of his understudy, longtime special interest lobbyist Michael Whatley. I voting for Don Brown in the Senate primary.

Democratic Socialists and associative RINOs, working hand in hand with the Bureaucrat Class, have made a mess of governing in so many areas.

Accordingly, it is a natural wonder how it will ever get fixed if our self-governed people cannot recognize that first there is a huge problem, a massively huge problem, that requires the robust good sense, and the fiscal restraint of many good governments, and then that ever apparent solution to straighten this incredible clustered mess will be discovered, and implemented to full measure.

People, good People of the self-governed, please stop voting for stupid, corrupt politicians, and I thank-you in advance for doing so.

Word has it that recently retired Superior Court Judge Jerry Tillet, a conservative, may seek this senate seat that Sen. Hanig is leaving. He would be a good replacement. Hanig is what we need in Congress, NOT either of the Sandies.

With a candidate of the caliber of Senator Hanig, we ought to be able to win this seat in 2026. Hopefully, the party will rally around him without a primary.

Just an opinion, MY opinion, from the top of the dome here:

The whole situation between Israel and Gaza is a sh**show that needs t stopped; Trump playing both sides and court

Hanig was instrumental is saving the shrimping industry when the special interests tried to shut it down, and he has stood tall on lots of other issues, too. He is the polar opposite of Undocumented Democrat Sandy Roberson.

Anyone that had anything to do with the attempt to shut down the shrimping industry should not only be shunned but also be run out of politics on a rail.

Befuddled: I welcome any and all questions from the public, but there must be limits, so, bearing that necessity in mind: I will welcome and allow one question from each of our commenters, and that question may be submitted right here by designating it as that commenter's first question of choice.

Stan, I listened to table talk. Thanks for your time doing this.
I think this should be done EVERY WeeK until the election. We need to know more!! Time is short and this election is critical. We cant afford another corrupt Govt.
Lastly, You should invite us to send you OUR questions. I want to know what these candidates think the role of the City Manager is? The current Council thinks the City Manager is there to do their thinking for them. All Council meetings are choregraphed. Its just a performance, even the motions are written by the City Manager's "Team Players," for the Council members to read. I suspect they dont even know what they are reading, and the decision for how they vote has been pre-planned by "The Staff." "The Staff" is code word for the Manager's henchmen. We need new blood who will promise to do the work and think for themselves. I fear the new, will be the same as the old.

And this idiot is the leader of a whole band Democratic Socialist fools taking up wasted space in the House; how is that believable?

What idiot politicians would raise property taxes 28% in one year, all with an expanding tax base?
Commented: Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 @ 5:14 pm By: Stan Deatherage
With the City of Washington's outrageous 28% property tax increase this year, getting rid of them entirely is a great idea. But for revenues, something else would have to be taxed, and the most likely thing there would be consumption through a sales tax or VAT. We also ought to have a cap on local taxes so grasping politicians like the Sadler regime do not clobber taxpayers the way they have this year.

NO politician currently in office in Washington city government should be returned to office. They all are complicit in the tax ripoff and they all need to GO. Lets clean house in Washington in November. The city manager who proposed this outrage also needs his walking papers. Throw the rascals OUT.

These corrupt courts looked the other way when the Biden regime cancelled border wall construction that the first Trump administration already had paid for and was under construction. Now these lousy judicial insurrectionists of Biden and Obama judges are trying to hamstring President Trump at every turn. Their highly political decrees border on treason. It is time Trump did what Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln did and just ignore them. Lincoln even issued an order for the arrest of a senior judge. These interfering judges need to be told to stuff their stinking gavels where the sun does not shine.

I am aghast that Democratic Socialists, and highly committed RINOs would vote for Gavin Newsome ... but they will.

Therefore, a clarion call to all of America's smartest citizens, please heed this call to do all you can to select the best self-government of the People intellectually possible.

If you like high electric rates, you will love the Democrats and RINOs and their War on Coal. HB951 was a travesty, and backstabbing Phil Berger pandering to Roy Cooper and to the woke utility monopoly Duke Energy is why it was foisted upon us in a last minute cram down.

Harboring illegal aliens is a felony under federal law. They need to start indicting Democrat politicians for it.

Electing these three to the Washington City Council would be a giant step in the right direction toward fixing the enormous problems in Washington government. The Lord only knows how much worse things could get with the current crowd running things.

These three Washington City Council non incumbent challengers to the much maligned incumbents took the time to take the opportunity to answer 4 good important questions here on Table Talk.

These 3 challengers should be taken seriously.

The Hood is right, and we both agree as county commissioners, Beaufort County's School Board and its administration need so much help, far too often, and on so many issues, but there are no solutions that revolve around providing more public money ... They have plenty of the public's money, probably too much of the public's money.
Commented: Monday, September 1st, 2025 @ 5:53 pm By: Stan Deatherage
I have to agree with the Old Man on majority of this; Beaufort County needs to set an example.

If I were an elected official, I would move to abolish the County's office of police-ing Tax Collection for the school board until a state audit was conducting to determine the extent of fraud and misappropriation of public funds.

There'd be hineyholes getting even tighter over 'air at Central Office.

They need to make sure the signature on the auto pen was actually Joe Biden's signature. There is some question to it being forged which would make everything signed by auto pen invalid.
Commented: Monday, September 1st, 2025 @ 12:07 pm By: Countrygirl1411
If their appointment is signed by an autopen, is that a legal appointment?
There are ways to detect if it is the Pen or a handwritten signature.

We all knew this would happen once normal returned to the public square, but still, I ask: Are there at the point where we are normal enough?

I offer that we are not.
