Hi Bobby, Rays daughter in law has contacted the website and tells me that Rays son Christopher has his dads guitar and is looking to find some original sheet music to go with it. What a great idea of togetherness if we can help in the search. Maybe you have some connections in the right places. Cheers...

I was a young boy in the 60's and grew up loving his music. It wasn't until a few years ago when I was helping out my partner on her 60's BBC local radio show, when I was researching Ray Whitley. I had chosen one of three songs to play and talk about and discovered he had passed away in such sad circumstances.

There was also no information about him on Wikipedia except for a 1930's singing cowboy with the same name, which caused lots of confusion for me. I'm not sure but the guitar you mentioned may well be connected to the singing cowboy 'Ray Whitley,' also from Georgia.

So I created a new Wikipedia page for him and his vast amount of music which stopped him getting mixed up with the old black and white film star. I also started collecting all his music from YouTube and made a home for it on his website www.raywhitley.com

It will be four years tomorrow since his passing and I would just like to give something back to the memory of a man and his music that touched myself and countless others all over the world.

Mr. Mash taught me Chemistry, Physics, and Advanced Chemistry at Clarkston High School graduating class of 1964. He was one of the best teachers I ever had, but was also the scariest to begin with. But after 3 years I learned what a fascinating man he was and knew he really was on my side. He just did not put up with any foolishness, at all. He fueled a love in science that took me through Dental school. When I got to college I was amazed and thankful that I had the same text book for my first two quarters of college chemistry that I had used for my year in Advanced Chemistry. Think that did not make it easier? Yes, it did. I am sure Mr. Marsh touched many lives in a very positive ways and I have always been thankful for his influence on my life. I know he is gone but just want to say "Thank You Mr. Marsh".

I too am one of Mr. Boykin's fans. I was a senior ( 1964)and a poor boy with no money for college and I wanted so badly to get out of the home and go off to college. I planned to go to Ga. Tech and live at home as the only available option. Mr. Boykin told me to try to go to Emory at Oxford, his school. He pointed me to the scholarship part of the college and wrote recommendations for me and my best friend, Kim Palmer, another poor boy to get an acceptance. I registered at Tech and was ready to start summer quarter when lo and behold I got a letter offering me a full scholarship to Emory at Oxford. Today it is know as Oxford College of Emory University and is located in the small town of Oxford Georgia, near Covington.
I immediately accepted, as did Kim Palmer. This started me on a road that would lead to early admission to Dental School and graduating from Dental school in 1970 with a DDS. Who would have ever imagined it.

I can only imagine how many other lives this man has probably touched in the years he has been in the teaching profession. I actually loved Geometry and looked forward to the class. I was spell bound by the theorems that were developed on the board in front of my eyes. Thank you so much Mr. Boykin.

Every allegation the Democrats have made concerning Trump/Russia collusion is based on sources claiming leaked information obtained by wiretapping and surveillance of Trump's campaign. Trump was brilliant to claim he was wiretapped. If the media claims that Trump was not wiretapped then they must admit their Trump/Russian narrative is fake news. They can't have it both ways. Trump trapped them.

Very thoughtful analysis. I usually just say "Trumps The Man". It would sure be great if our political discourse was on this level however.

Truly he was a very great talent on loan from God. Probably my favorite song by Glen was "Break My Mind." By saying favorite that does not discount any of this great body of work. Like others, Glen went off the tracks for a while and then returned and shared his great work and personality. His smile could match his music. Blue skies forever Glen Campbell.

Stan, no doubt that he may be the right man at the right time. His actions are much more important than some of his outburst. Even a child or adolescent who is an outstanding student, athlete or does some heroic deed still needs responsible guidance. Our president just needs to act up to his potential. I wish him great success in his quest to restore America.

Funny how when we see something like: "must read, official, required, authorized," and more that we are automatically programmed to believe it has some legitimacy and we should pay some attention to it even if ever so briefly. (Wow, that was a long sentence. I need an authorized proof reader.)

A bit of local trivia. My nephew, Bill Roberson, is the "fat man on bench" you see at the beginning and end of the trailer. Bill grew up in Washington (Slatestone Road) and was a graduate of Washington High School and ECU. He has appeared in several other films. He now resides in Columbia, SC.

At least 3 deer killed at night w/in 8 days, at SAME spot on west 5th street, close to PC Sound.
Within the last hour, I think abt 60 speeding cars have run over the carcass smearing it all over 5th street. Soon there will be nothing left of it but mush & crushed bones.
The cars are going 50 mph and so they cant see it in time to move over.

I think City of Washington may need a deer crossing warning sign here on west 5th street. Or... the NC transportation Dept should slow the traffic down. 50 mph speed limit here in the city limts is too fast here, where all these houses have tiny driveways, that ppl need to almost stop to turn into, is too fast.

We asked the NC dept of Transportation to slow the traffic, but they said the City of Washington didnt want it slowed.

We asked the city police to call someone to move it, the dispatcher told me the highway is not their jurisdiction.

At 50mph the deer are in danger from speeding vehicles, & the people are in danger too. 50 mph is too fast

The intelligence community briefed Trump that Russia was almost certainly behind the hacks on the DNC and the Clinton campaign in an effort to influence our democratic process. Every American should be extremely alarmed by such news and unite to send the most extreme warning to Putin that such interference will not be tollerated because, above partisan politics, we value the democracy that we enjoy due to the sacrifices made by so many patriotic countrymen over the centuries. But rather than unite, Trump seeks to divide Americans and to aid and comfort America's enemy with "plausible denial".
