BCCC inks agreement with Norwich University for bachelor's in criminal justice | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

Beaufort County Community College and Norwich University have reached an agreement that would allow BCCC criminal justice graduates to complete their bachelor's degrees online through Norwich University.

The agreement was announced this week by BCCC Dean of Business and Industrial Technology Ben Morris.

"This is an excellent opportunity for those who earned an associate's degree in criminal justice to earn a bachelor's degree and be better prepared to advance in their chosen field of criminal justice work," said Morris. "I am delighted to make this available to our graduates."

As a result of the agreement, the application fee for admission into the Criminal Justice Program at Norwich University will be waived. Norwich University will apply at least 60 of a BCCC criminal justice graduate's course credits towards completion of his or her bachelor's degree and Norwich University will offer semester credits for previous career training and certifications to BCCC graduates as appropriate.

Norwich University is also taking steps to ensure that study towards a bachelor's degree is affordable for BCCC graduates, Morris said.

The university will offer a tuition rate of $250 per credit for BCCC criminal justice graduates who are active military. For other BCCC graduates, a $500 tuition discount is available.

Founded in 1819, Norwich University is a private, not-for-profit university located in Vermont. It offers advanced courses in Public Safety and Law Enforcement and Intelligence and Security Management.

For more information and a brochure about the bachelor's in criminal justice, interested persons can visit the BCCC link on Norwich University's website at http://online.norwich.edu/bccc. At BCCC, contact Morris at (252) 940-6374 or by email at benm@beaufortccc.edu.
