Governor Pat McCrory hosted staff members from the North Carolina Congressional Delegation at the Governor’s Mansion today for an open and bipartisan dialogue on how to work together better and more often for the betterment of the state.

    Governor Pat McCrory hosted staff members from the North Carolina Congressional Delegation at the Governor's Mansion today for an open and bipartisan dialogue on how to work together better and more often for the betterment of the state.

    "It was great to have such an impressive group of accomplished staff members at the Governor's Mansion today," said Governor McCrory. "Together, we represent every person across this great state, and it is important that we remain in constant contact to best serve the people of the greatest state in the nation. I want to keep a very open dialogue with our Congressional Delegation, and doing events like this is the perfect opportunity to continue what has been a great, bipartisan dialogue already."

    Department of Cultural Resources Secretary Susan Kluttz; Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary John Skvarla; State Chief Information Officer Chris Estes; Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Aldona Wos; Department of Transportation Secretary Tony Tata; Division of Employment Security Assistant Secretary Dale Folwell; State Budget Director Art Pope; Department of Revenue Secretary Lyons Gray and Senior Military Advisor Major General Cornell Wilson, U.S. Marines (Retired) all gave brief updates and hosted a question and answer session.

    Following a lunch, the group traveled to the Joint Force Headquarters where they toured the facility and heard from Major General Gregory Lusk, Adjutant General of the North Carolina National Guard, and North Carolina Emergency Management Director Mike Sprayberry. The Emergency Management team met with the Congressional staff members there to provide an update on the White House and FEMA in connection with the devastating tornadoes that hit eastern North Carolina last month.

    Staff members from the offices of Senators Burr and Hagan were present along with staff from Representatives G.K. Butterfield, Renee Ellmers, Walter Jones, David Price, Virginia Foxx, Howard Coble, Mike McIntyre, Richard Hudson, Robert Pittenger, Patrick McHenry, Mark Meadows and George Holding.
