BCCC To Offer Critical Care Review Course | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

Beaufort County Community College and Vidant EastCare are offering an online Critical Care Review Course to prepare paramedics to take the examination for certification as flight paramedics and critical care paramedics.

The course will be offered via the Internet beginning Monday, June 1, and ending Friday, July 31. The cost of the program is $5 for affiliated paramedics and $185 for non-affiliated paramedics.

A textbook, Critical Care Transport, is available for $165.95 from Jones & Bartlett Learning. The book can be ordered via the Internet at http://www.jblearning.com. Use the Promo Code EMS15 for a 20 percent discount.

Registration for the class will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27.

This 72-hour course has been approved by the Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification. Paramedics who are already flight paramedic, or FP-C or critical care paramedics, or CCP-C, certified can use this course for recertification. Vidant EastCare requires all paramedics to obtain either certification within two years after employment and prefers that paramedics have the certification at the time of employment.

Students may register by calling 252-940-6375 or in person in room 802 of Building 8 on the BCCC campus. BCCC accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Checks payable to Beaufort County Community College may be mailed to the attention of Eva Peartree, 5337 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington, NC 27889.

For more information about the class including information on ordering the required textbook, contact Billy Respass, EMS Coordinator, at 252-940-6468 or by email at billy.respass@beaufortccc.edu or Trey Labrecque at trey.labrecque@vidanthealth.com.
