Leaving a Legacy | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

The Beaufort County Community College Foundation recently brought together about 80 of its donors, scholarship recipients, members of its Board of Directors, BCCC trustees and local business women and men who have supported Foundation events through the years at its Third Annual Legacy Luncheon held on the BCCC campus Tuesday, April 28.

Since the Foundation was created in 1993, its assets have grown from $81,600 to over $2 million in 2015. Scholarship recipients Tyler Harriett, Claude Piles and Catherine Spring spoke to the group. Keynote speaker Greg Coltrain, chief executive officer of Tri-County Telecom and a member of the Foundation Board of Directors, thanked the donors for their continued support and encouraged the scholarship recipients to duplicate in the future the generosity shown to them.

Foundation Director Serena Sullivan said she was pleased with the attendance at the luncheon and plans to continue the gathering as an annual event. For more information about establishing a scholarship, contact Sullivan at (252) 940-6326 or by email at serena.sullivan@beaufortccc.edu. Pictured, Coltrain speaks to those attending the luncheon.
