More than half of U.S. states adopt ‘Right to Try’ measures

People across the United States die each year because federal regulators have blocked access to treatments that could extend or even save their lives. But in recent years more than half of the states have approved "Right to Try" legislation. It enables terminally ill patients to access medication that has entered the clinical trial stage in the federal regulatory process.

The Arizona-based Goldwater Institute has been a vocal proponent of the "Right to Try" movement. Executive vice president Christina Sandefur discussed "Right to Try" laws Monday with the John Locke Foundation's Shaftesbury Society.

She offers a basic synopsis in the video clip above. Click here to access video of the full presentation.
