How the News Can be Manipulated | Eastern North Carolina Now

I will now peck out an article that might be written by a Left Leaning Columnist. In the prior sentence I could have replaced "Might be written" with the words "Was written" or "Probably was written" or "Will be written"...

The American People are showing their concern for President Trump's Policies. The latest poling results from Rasmussen Reports (February 12-16) shows that most of us are fearful of his actions since he became President. When asked if they thought the country was headed in the right direction, only 46% say they think it is headed in the right direction while 48% are showing great concern for where we are headed.

By mentioning the present and not the past, this article manipulates the news.

The un-manipulated news (again Rasmussen Reports) shows that during the Obama Era the optimism about the future was Way Below 46%...

2/22-28 2010...25% Right Direction and 69% Wrong Direction
2/21-27 2011...27% Right Direction and 66% Wrong Direction
2/20-26 2012...32% Right Direction and 61% Wrong Direction
2/1/-24 2013...34% Right Direction and 58% Wrong Direction
2/17-23 2014...32% Right Direction and 61% Wrong Direction
2/16-22 2015...31% Right Direction and 61% Wrong Direction
2/21-25 2016...29% Right Direction and 63% Wrong Direction

Now, in the Trump Era, we see...

2/12-16 2017...46% Right Direction and 48% Wrong Direction

Even more telling about the optimism is that the week before last November's Election the numbers were...
30% Right Direction and 63% Wrong Direction

That's quite a turnaround in a very short period of time.

    Would they kid us?
