Press Release:

BELHAVEN, NC     Dr. Jeffrey Gibson, a family medicine physician, joined Vidant Multispecialty Clinic - Belhaven, located at 598 W. Old County Rd., on Feb. 6. Gibson joins the team of local doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses who have years of experience caring for patients in eastern North Carolina. As a family medicine physician, Gibson's areas of interest are preventative health care, geriatrics and diabetes.

"Together with the health coach, physical therapists, and the other providers in the community, I know that we can work together to improve the health of our patients and help prevent and manage chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease," Gibson said.

Gibson joins Drs. Mark Beamer and Gregory Jones at the new clinic. Besides offering primary care services, the new facility has additional space for cardiac consults, prenatal care, lab work, ultrasounds and X-rays, all conveniently located under one roof. In addition, the clinic has a team of physical therapists, offering outpatient physical therapy services so patients can stay close to home while recovering from injuries and other health related issues.

Dr. Gibson began his collegiate career in Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. Before beginning medical school, he spent time working as a patient attendant with the University of Michigan Health System and also served as an emergency medical technician in the Detroit area.

Gibson received a Doctorate of Medicine from Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. He brought his skill set to eastern North Carolina, completing a residency in family medicine with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He continued his education through a geriatric fellowship with Brody in the department of family medicine. He spent the last year working as a hospitalist for several regional hospitals in our area.

Dr. Gibson is accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment with any of the providers, call (252) 943-0600.
