   The Beaufort Patriot TEA Party, in cooperation with the County Compass and the Beaufort Observer is sponsoring a candidates’ forum on April 3. 2012, 7:00 pm at Beaufort County Community College.

     Candidates for the state legislature and county commission will participate. The meeting is open to the public, regardless of political affiliation.

   Each candidate will be allowed a two-minute introduction. In the second round, each candidate will be given three minutes to explain the “three-five major issues they believe they will face if elected and what their position is on each of those issues.” Time permitting, questions drawn at random from those submitted by the audience before the meeting begins will be allowed in the third round.

   Races to be included are: Senate District 1, House 3 and House 6 as well as the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners. Stickers, cards and candidate information may be handed out. We are inviting other Media. In order to plan the schedule we will need your confirmation by March 26, 2012.

   If candidates who participate choose to submit their position papers in writing, that information will be published on the Beaufort Patriot Tea Party website and may be published either on the news media websites or print editions. Video will also be made of the presentations and those will be posted on You Tube for candidates to link to from their websites or for distribution by email.
