New physician to join Vidant Behavioral Health - Ahoskie | Eastern North Carolina Now

   GREENVILLE     Dr. Louisa Ayafor is now practicing with Vidant Medical Group at Vidant Behavioral Health - Ahoskie.

   Vidant Behavioral Health – Ahoskie is dedicated to offering a full continuum of services including a 20-bed adult and an eight-bed geropsych unit, emergency department consultations, inpatient consultations, and an outpatient psychiatric practice and nursing home consultation service. The practice uses an innovative team-based approach to care, while addressing a wide-range of clinical disorders, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, impulsive control, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorders.

    Ayafor completed a residency in the psychiatry program at the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. She specializes in mood disorders, anxiety and depression.

   "I am excited to be joining the team at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, because I am looking forward to making a positive difference,” said Dr. Louisa Ayafor. “I feel privileged to be doing this in Eastern North Carolina, which my family and I consider a home far away from home.”

   Ayafor joins Drs. Peter Clagnaz and Suzanne Yoder, who currently see patients at 113-B Hertford County High Road in Ahoskie.
