Pete Benton endorses Stan Deatherage in his re-election bid to continue on the Beaufort County Commission in the May 17th Repulican Primary.

Over 200 years ago, then Vice President John Adams said, "In considering those for public office, we must choose men of high moral character to serve". He went on to say, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other". Our founding fathers warned us over 200 years ago that freedom was just one generation away from extinction and that we must be ever vigilant in protecting it from the hands of tyrants! For freedom has a price and we must be willing to pay for it to keep it!

In a letter to President Donald J. Trump, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano wrote, "In recent months, we have been witnessing the formation of two opposing sides that I would call Biblical: the children of the light and the children of the darkness. The children of light constitute the most conspicuous part of humanity, while the children of the darkness represent an absolute minority. And yet the former are the object of a sort of discrimination which places them in a situation of moral inferiority with respect to their adversaries, who often hold strategic positions in government, in politics, in the economy and in the media. In an apparently inexplicable way, the good are held hostage by the wicked and by those who help them either out of self interest or fearfulness".

Now more than ever, America needs to carefully and judiciously pick men and women who are true Christian Patriots with a servant's heart to make this blessed Nation that Shining City Upon the Hill which Ronald Reagan conceived over 40 years, ago. Here in Beaufort County, we have such a man - Stan Deatherage. As the election process for Beaufort County Commissioner is forthcoming in this primary, I encourage all residents to put their faith and trust in Stan because he is truly a Conservative and a Patriot, who loves America with a heart to serve his country. My trusted friend, Stan Deatherage, has served as a county commissioner stretching over 3 decades here in Beaufort County, and has been elected three times as a non incumbent, a local record for all Republicans in the history of Beaufort County.

Stan believes in honesty, hard work, accountability and always doing the right thing for the people. Now more than ever, America needs men and women who share Stan's real Conservative values, vision, principles and the governing virtues of always abiding by the constitutions (the US and NC Constitutions) that he is sworn to protect and defend. John Adams also said, "The destiny of America is to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to all men everywhere". Let America put her faith in those who believe in the supremacy and power of the Almighty God, our father. As an imperfect child of Almighty God, who has proved to be principled in his nearly 6 terms of serving our self-governed people, I humbly ask that you put your faith also in Stan Deatherage to do his continued best to follow those principles.

    With Kindest Regards,

    Steven D. "Pete" Benton

Former, Deputy Commander, US Air Force Presidential Honor Guard (Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush)

I am, right NOW, in the process of developing a political based Social platform, a goal of which, in part, is to save real Conservatives from the nefarious designs of those interlopers that are NOT real Conservatives, but would employ that brand built by far better people to fool others. Eventually, these "Conservative" interlopers can not only be found out through their shifting words, but by their inconsistent and often dishonest deeds.

Consequently, when explaining this concept to my lead tech guy, who was (maybe still is) a Biden supporter, I explained my intended goal, with this interface device, which is to reach Pete Benton's in counties, possibly states far, far away, and give them a place for their own space to make that difference - a unique presence we desperately need right now.

My lead guy knows Pete (we do work for Pete), and he gets what I want to accomplish because he respects Pete. For me, Pete is my trusted friend, and I want more friends like Pete. That is my goal: To find them and offer them a better interface to reach out to accomplish their lofty goals to serve because they have that innate ability to do so., and it is more rare than one might realize ... at least to do so in an honest fashion.

As an optimist, I have to believe there are many Pete Bentons out there just waiting to be discovered, to be burnished by their desire to serve, and offered a space by SNI to do some good.

It is the least I can do.

Is this remembrance an insinuation? With all due respect, using a quote with quotation marks and citing the source is not plagiarism.

In the '88 Presidential race, Joe Biden recited the words of UK Labour MP Neil Kinnock and pretended they were his own. That is plagiarism.

Biden has a habit of this sort of thing. According to a 1987 article in the Times, Biden acknowledged plagiarizing a law review journal for a paper during law school and begged school administrators not to expel him because of his "mistake" in the citation process.

Benton and Biden have little in common. Pete Benton is an honorable man.

Remember when Joe Biden plagiarized an English Labor Party speech and was forced to drop out of the '88 Presidential race?
