Canadian provinces are standing up for gun rights and refusing to implement Prime Minister Trudeau's national gun confiscation law. So far, the Conservative-led provincial governments of Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, and the Liberal led province of New Brunswick have told their police not to enforce the gun confiscation law. Canada's largest two provinces, Conservative-led Ontario, and Quebec, led by a right-of-center French-speaking party, are expected to join the pushback.
Trudeau's list of banned firearms includes all semi-automatic guns and even some single shot bolt action rifles. It even included "Black Rifle Coffee". The Justice Minister of Alberta has announced that the provincial government is filing a motion to intervene on behalf of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit that has been filed against Trudeau gun confiscation law.
Alberta's Conservative Premier Danielle Smith is going a step farther. Her government has introduced an Alberta Sovereignty Act which would allow the provincial government to nullify national Canadian laws they beleive are harmful to the province.
Some would say that Trudeau is just following in the footsteps of his putative biological father, Fidel Castro, who also confiscated Cuban citizens' guns to cement his dictatorship.

That Alberta Sovereignty Act sounds like a great idea. Tell the federal government to bug out when they start their overreach. We need a North Carolina Sovereignty Act from our state legislature. Lets follow Alberta's great idea.

Nullification of tyrannical laws like gun grabs by not enforcing them when they infringe on our liberties is exactly why we need elected sheriffs instead of appointed county police chiefs.
