After The Past Decade, Why Would Anybody Trust The FBI? | Eastern North Carolina Now

According to a poll from late 2022, 50% of Americans trust the FBI either "hardly ever" or "some of the time."

That raises the question, what's with the other half of Americans who still give the G-Men the benefit of the doubt?

If events over the past 10 years haven't been enough to convince those fellow countrymen that something is seriously amiss with the FBI, then perhaps the latest story will do the trick.

On Monday, Charles McGonigal, a former top FBI agent who was involved in the Trump-Russia probe, was arrested over the weekend for alleged activities with a Russian oligarch. Put another way, it seems that the guy who was investigating Trump for Russian collusion wound up colluding with Russia. The alleged crimes occurred in 2021 after McGonigal had resigned, but they could taint his previous work.

The news is only the most recent evidence that the FBI needs to be dismantled by Congress.

Consider that over the past decade, Americans have seen the FBI falsify information in order to spy on an American citizen working on a presidential campaign - Carter Page.

The government used bogus materials, chiefly the Steele Dossier, to launch the 2016 presidential election Russian interference investigation, which led to the Mueller probe, which hampered the majority of President Donald Trump's presidency. Meanwhile, there was reason to believe that one of the key sources for the document, Igor Danchenko, was lying to the FBI. While acquitted, one has to wonder why the FBI trusted Danchenko at all. The Russian operative had been investigated in 2009 reportedly for trying to convince staffers at a progressive think tank to get jobs in the government where they had access to classified documents for a little "extra money."

The FBI only dropped the case because they thought Danchenko had fled the country.

And that barely covers the surface of the Russia collusion hoax. There are plenty more suspicious circumstances involving sordid characters such as FBI agents Peter Stzrok and Lisa Page, who worked on the investigation known as Crossfire Hurricane despite having personal animosity toward Trump based on text messages.

Beyond that, we've also seen the FBI be effectively weaponized against parents who speak out at school board meetings under Biden. We've seen federal law enforcement use heavy-handed tactics against pro-lifers. The agency raided the home of a former president, yet seems to treat the current president with kid gloves over similar accusations.

Meanwhile, the guy in charge of the FBI, Christopher Wray, has dismissed the argument that Antifa and left-wing activists represent any sort of threat. In light of the Atlanta protests this past weekend, perhaps Wray is reconsidering his stance on that matter.

In addition to all the malign acts that the bureau has allegedly committed, they have also been AWOL on some pretty important cases. That creep and pervert from Michigan State University, Larry Nassar, was allowed to molest young women because the FBI botched its investigation.

Mass shooters always seem to be on the FBI's "radar," yet are never caught. Instead, they seem to be focused on Americans who question the COVID narrative.

Released Twitter emails show that the FBI works hand-in-hand with Big Tech - even pressuring social media platforms when necessary - in order to censor certain viewpoints.

Now for some on the Left and in legacy media, the latest story about McGonigal does cause suspicion.

Yet, due to their incapacity to see the world through anything but the lens of "Orange man bad," the usual suspects think the arrest proves that the FBI covered up Trump's connections to Russia.

"And just like that, the left is putting its favorite conspiracy theory back in play to explain FBI corruption," WMAL's Vince Coglianese tweeted, alongside screenshots showing inane ideas about what the alleged corruption implies:

That logic seems faulty, but perhaps it shows that even the Left isn't so certain anymore that the FBI should be automatically supported by Americans. Granted, they can't seem to view the world through anything other than "Orange man bad" - which explains their inane conclusions - but still, it's a start.

To conclude, it's almost dizzying trying to summarize the reasons why skepticism is needed, but for the love of Pete, why would anybody have blind faith in the FBI anymore?

In light of continued developments, primarily since 2008, there exists in these United States a Legal System which operates on a proved Two Tiered approach to justice rendered, which primarily benefits Democratic Elites and Woke Ideological Virtue Signalers, representing their co-dependent wards, to the expressed exclusion of normal hardworking American citizens: What is your suggestion in remedying this widespread injustice and, if not corrected, its existential outcome for our Constitutional Republic?
Complete overhaul of the Department of Justice and their enforcers - the FBI - to reflect a far more honest justice system to keep patriots remaining calm.
Disband the FBI, and request that congress investigate all unethical and non patriotic practices to partially right the wrongs of a distrusted and politically weaponized "Department of Justice."
Continue with the current system since the two tiered justice system has been so remarkably beneficial to Democratic Socialist political hegemony; chronic distrust in institutions notwithstanding.
