Rev. Mark Creech: Christian ideals for government | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's Note: This article originally appeared in the Beaufort Observer.

Mark Creech the director of the Christian Action League delivered a straight forward message to a special meeting of the Beaufort Patriot Tea Party that had invited Ministers in the area to hear a presentation on " Christian Ideals for Government". A few informed Pastors attended.

The Tea Party sent out numerous invitations to some Ministers and made phone calls to others that were never returned. Some may have been afraid to reply or attend as there has been much misinformation promoted about the Tea Party by the main stream media and those that fear its influence. During the question and answer segment Reverend Mark Creech related his own experience of having to make a decision as a Pastor on whether or not to speak up because he was aware of the possibility of losing parishioners and his job. He chose to preach the word of God as it related to preserving the Christian Principles that this Country was founded on, and because he chose to do the right thing his congregation increased. He went on to explain that the reason many ministers do not speak out is the fear of losing their jobs.

Reverend Creech delivered a most stirring and inspirational speech that carried a true and important message. He outlined many examples of moral decay that Christians are allowing to happen.

One of the real attacks today is against Christianity. There is a constant whittling away of our moral values. More and more concessions are being made to fewer and fewer people as we see problems like prayer in school, same-sex marriage, more acceptances for abortion, out of wedlock pregnancies and the list goes on.

Where are Christian values being taught? When will churches wake up and realize that it is their Christian duty to help preserve precious liberties?

The Beaufort Patriot Tea Party wants the Public to understand its position. First and foremost its mission is to promote the education of conservative values. Second it is to help defend the principles on which this Country was founded, and the God given rights that are protected by the Constitution of the United States, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

The Beaufort County Tea Party is Non-Partisan and Non-Denominational. It does attract a large number of Republicans because of its conservative values, but there is great support from the Independent and Unaffiliated in the county.

All meetings are open to the public and the many good Christian Democrats in the area are welcome.

Chairman W.L. Buzz Cayton concluded the meeting with a quote by Pastor Martin Neimoller that is in the Holocaust Museum:

"First they came for the Socialist and I did not speak out

because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists and I did not speak out

because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out

because I was not a Jew.

    Then they came for me

And there was no one left to speak for me".

His final statement was " I pray many people who can make a difference will not one day have to say to their children and grandchildren, they came for the Christians and I did nothing".
