News Release:

The annual Stuff the Bus Campaign, held by Beaufort County Schools, will be this Saturday, August 3 at the Washington Wal-Mart. This event, which is organized with cooperation from the Beaufort County United Way, collects school supplies that will benefit students from across the county all year long.

"We are so appreciative of the community support this event always receives," explained John Conway, Assistant Superintendent of Beaufort County Schools. "Students face enough challenges in a good situation when it comes to school. When they are unable to come to class with the materials they need, this is another hardship that can interfere with their learning. These donations help provide the tools many students need to excel in the classroom."

A Beaufort County Schools yellow bus will be parked in front of the Washington Wal-Mart store from 8am to 1pm this Saturday. Any and all donations of school supplies are greatly appreciated.

A possible shopping list for someone wanting to contribute may include pens, pencils, crayons, composition books, notebook paper and backpacks.

If you have questions about donating, please contact Beaufort County Schools at 946-6593 and ask for Student Services.
