    Mr. Johnnie "Douglas" Clark, age, 72 of Washington, NC, died November 16, 2024, at his home.

    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    Mr. Clark was born in Beaufort County on June 13, 1952, to the late Johnnie Merrion Clark and Margie Paramore Clark. On February 27, 1971, he married Katheryn "Kathy" Maxine Warner. Mr. Clark retired from Proctor and Gamble. He worked several years independently transporting boats and running Clark's Enterprises.

    He enjoyed all things with a motor: driving both on and off road, cruising country roads and drag racing, riding the lawn mower and parading with a tractor. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

    Survivors include sons Johnnie Douglas "JD" Clark, Jr. (Marsha) and Donnie "Eugene" Clark (Tammie), grandchildren Cadin, Kayla, Dylan and Shane Clark, sisters Grace Mills of Chocowinity, Denise Dixon (Randy) of Washington, and Lorraine Bell (Ray) of Vanceboro, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Clark is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Kathy Warner Clark, and grandson Justin Bryce Clark.

    The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the ECU Health Home Health and Hospice for their dedicated and compassionate medical care and Pastor Chuck Beasley of Tranter's Creek Church of Christ for spiritual comfort the past several weeks.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Clarks Neck Fire and Rescue, Station 2, 3797 Wharton Station Road, Washington, NC 27889.
