Press Release

The scholarships are intended to remove financial barriers for students seeking to gain new or upgrade current job-related skills.

Annually, the program provides 580 scholarships statewide to all 58 community colleges.

"The Division of Continuing Education is delighted to announce the availability of these scholarships," said Chet Jarman, Vice President of Continuing Education at BCCC. "Providing short-term opportunities for individuals to upgrade their job skills is an important mission of the college. I thank the State Employees Credit Union for these scholarships, which will relieve some of the financial burdens for our residents who need that training."

Ten scholarships at $750 each will be provided during the 2013-2014 academic year to students enrolled in short-term training programs through BCCC's Division of Continuing Education. The scholarships are intended to help cover the cost of registration fees, books, certification fees and course supplies.
