    Raleigh, NC     Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

   •  Shirley Richardson (Beaufort County) - Richardson is the office manager for Hood Richardson, PA. She was born in Beaufort County and is a lifelong resident with family and friend ties to Historic Bath. Richardson participates in fundraising activities for various charities and church activities. She is a past member of the Beaufort County Republican Executive Committee. She is a direct appointment for this board.

      Josephine Hookway (Beaufort County) - Hookway is a retired nurse practitioner. She has served on the commission since 1998. Hookway serves on the steering committee, Bath tri-centennial committee and executive council. She has also volunteered in Palestine and Romania. She is a reappointment for this board.

   •  Claudia Alligood (Washington County) - Alligood attended East Carolina University and St. John's University. She is a retired teacher with Beaufort County Schools. She is a member and secretary of the Historic Bath Commission. She is a reappointment for this board.

   •  Blanche Monroe (Beaufort County) - Monroe attended East Carolina University. She retired from her fabric design business, Marbleous in 1988. Monroe has served on several boards, including the Greenville Museum of Art and the Pitt-Greenville Arts Council. She has led fundraising efforts for the Bath Town Council for beautification projects in preparation for Bath's 300th anniversary. She is a reappointment for this board.

   •  Cindy Baldwin (Beaufort County) - Baldwin is the past chair of the Beaufort County Republican Women and ran for County Commissioner. She is a direct appointment for this board.

    The purpose of the Historic Bath Commission is to acquire, dispose, restore and maintain historic properties in and near the Town of Bath in Beaufort County. The commission assists and advises the secretary of the Department of Cultural Resources on the administration of the Bath State Historic Site. The commission has 28 members, each serving five-year terms. The governor appoints 25 members.

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day by visiting Goose Creek State Park in Washington.
Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
