Wall Street Journal - How NJ Dems caused power prices to soar thru "green energy" | Eastern NC Now

NJ's electric rates are well above the national average and soaring higher

ENCNow

The Wall Street Journal is pointing out that electric rates are on the ballot in this November's election for New Jersey Governor.  The policies over the last eight years of outgoing Democrat Governor Phil Murphy have caused New Jersey power prices for consumers to soar well above the national average and they are headed even higher.

When Murphy took office, the electric rate picture was much more promising for New Jersey.  New gas fired plants, taking advantage of abundant shale gas in neighboring Pennsylvania gave the state a good supply of cheap electric power. Murphy threw all of that away in chasing the climate alarmist "green energy" rainbow.  He shut down New Jersey's coal fired power plants and reduced its gas fired plants to try to shift to expensive and unreliable wind and solar.  That is when New Jersey electric ratepayers started seeing their power bills rise dramatically.

Republicans are rising in the polls in New Jersey and want to drive a stake through the heart of Murphy's insane green energy monster.

It's not just New Jersey.  Maryland Democrats have trashed their electric grid the same way with wind and solar, leading to chronic instability and high prices for consumers.

Sadly, a combination of RNOs and liberal Democrats have set North Carolina on the very same disastrous wind and solar pathway with HB951.  Liberal Senate boss Phil Berger and former RINO House Speaker Tim Moore got behind liberal Democrat Governor Roy Cooper's number one policy goal of pushing wind and solar power in North Carolina, in alignment with NC's "woke" electric monopoly Duke Energy.

It was on the radio today that Maryland is now experiencing rolling blackouts due to wind and solar not providing enough power. Their coal plants are all gone and they have reduced gas plants. This will likely become endemic like it did in the state of South Australia when their Labour Party state government blew up all their coal plants so they could become the "wind superpower". Now rolling blackouts are an everyday occurence and having a home generator is essential, and they have even had their first statewide blackout due to wind farms shutting down due to strong spring storms.

Wind and solar are for morons and ideologues, oh, and also for RINOs Thom Tillis and Micheal Whatley.

Phil Berger is responsible for pushing this loony left climate alarmist BS in North Carolina. One expects liberal Democrats like Roy Cooper to be for it and woke idiots like Duke Energy trying to get their ESG kudos from the left, but a stab in the back to consumers from a supposed Republican like Berger is hard to take. Good thing that he has a primary next year from the popular Republican sheriff of his home county. Throw the bum OUT!
