David Taylor Boyd | Eastern NC Now

    David Taylor Boyd, age 83 a lifelong resident of Chocowinity, died Friday November 28, 2025, at ECU Health Medical Center.

    Services will be held at a later date.

    David was born on April 16, 1942, to the late Zeb Boyd and Mattie Ardell "Art" Hodges Boyd. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School. David was co-owner and operator of the GOCO Station in Chocowinity and Owner/Operator of BANCO, where he drilled wells all over eastern North Carolina. He was a member of the Red Men's Lodge. David loved to read and exercise, he loved being outdoors, collecting coins and talking with family and friends, he was also an avid history lover. IN addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Boyd, Odell Boyd, Milton Boyd and Carnell Boyd and sister, Mamie Lou Baker and his former wife, Paulette Boyd.

    Survivors include his daughters, Audrey Boyd of Blounts Creek and Amy Boyd Cox (Lindsay) of Chocowinity, grandchildren, Ashley Taylor Cox (Mac Skillen) and Amanda Grace Cox, several nieces, and nephews.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wanoca Presbyterian Church, 921 E. 6th Street, Washington, NC 27889.
