On August 21, 2013 at 10:39 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unresponsive person at 2530 Long Ridge Road in Pinetown, NC. Upon arrival, Deputies located a deceased white male with a gunshot wound to the head.

During the investigation, Deputies learned that the offender had not stayed in the shelter since August 10th. On August 15th, Deputies located the sex offender walking on West 5th Street in Washington and arrested him.

During the search, a white powdery substance consistent with cocaine, a dosage unit of vicodin, and drug paraphernalia was found in the home.

Investigators gave chase and were able to catch Anderson and placed him under arrest. Other members of the Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle Anderson had met with and arrested the occupants to include Ricky Williams and Davonn Armstrong.

Midgette was then escorted to an office beside the courtroom by a Bailiff and Detention Officer to be prepped for transport. Midgette had been out on bond prior to court and was wearing civilian clothing. Midgette fled on foot before officers were able to apply restraints.

On February 8, 2013 at approximately 8:00 am, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Beaufort County Department of Social Services of possible Child Abuse at a residence on Terrapin Track Road in Washington, NC.

On July 11, 2013, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested William Logan Whichard, age 20, of 3028 Whichards Beach Rd. in Chocowinity and Danielle Alex Baker, age 20, of 1977 Hwy 102 in Chocowinity.

As a result of the investigation, Investigator Jim Adams applied for and obtained warrants charging Pamela Sue Koonce, age 26, of Deer Track Drive in Washington with one count of Identity Theft and three counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense.

Thanks to a Crime Stopper’s tip, Jefferson was arrested by the Shippensburg Police Department in Pennsylvania on July 8th. Jefferson will be extradited back to North Carolina.
