B.T., I have watched the first two installments of Ken Burn's Vietnam War documentary, and your detail oriented first hand account of this FUBAR period of American /World history segues beautifully with the knowledge that I am gaining courtesy of Burns / B.T.

Thanks again.

On a side note, the Deep State existed in the early 50s, as it does know against Mr. Trump.

If the Deep State of the OSS /CIA had been a bit more transparent with President Truman, there may not have been a Vietnam War. I fully appreciate the CIA for the great work they do to keep us safe, but, I also cringe everytime I hear some Liberal /Socialist expouse how they are beyond reproach, and there is no Deep State in today's America.

When Socialists start aligning with the Deep State, we should all be very watchful; or, an Orwellian future lays not to far in the distance.

Thanks Ted. You really are a wealth of information when it comes to handguns.

It is ridiculous that the so few people understand this problem as imminent as it is.

Core Democrats had no idea that Russia hacks cyber systems on a constant basis until L. Hillary blew this election. The federal government is responsible for these issues as per the Constitution. This is their job, and they have done nearly nothing to help.

Very topical post B.T.; credit can be used very much against you if one finds themselves dealing with the wrong people.

Commented on A Remembrance

Nice poem of a difficult day, the impetus for a more difficult decade, with decades difficult as time yet unfolds.

I pray that this will not not turn out poorly for America. The debt ceiling is a governing tool that will not go away ... no matter how one wishes to explain it.

Bobby Tony, Thanks for this return of the memoriams of our fallen balladeers.

I am not knowledgeable of Don Williams, but now, I am a bit closer to who he was and how much pleasure he brought others. Thank-you.

I should do a memoriam on Walter Becker of Steely Dan, but to date too much to do.

It will certainly be a weird, wild ride if nothing else.

If nothing else, the man has reduced core Democrats to sniveling idiots. And, slowly, very slowly, the man is draining the swamp of some corruption - DOJ (big problems there), FBI (who would have thought this?) EPA, V.A. (this is really starting into the right direction).

Beautiful anecdote.

Have you ever noticed that when Liberals use the word anecdotal, its meaning is just the opposite, as if what you said was a vagary?

I've always been a good Conservative more than a Republican; therefore, I see the vast problems within the Republican party. Governing is a conundrum, and sometimes one must think outside the box. Rightly or wrongly, Trump sees things in an unconventional light.

I still dig that ... even if I do no agree with his methods or its outcome.

Trump needs to go far in messing up before I not recognize that he is by far the best president that we have had in 12 years.

As a patient Republican, I fully recognize their problems in getting the real work done.

Great Post Bobby Tony.

We now live in a world that Snowflakes and Snowflake coddlers cannot understand.

When Trump is the Russia problem, then those Liberals /Socialists do not understand Russia, the World, or the history of the United States.

And all of this from Ben Shapiro, a once self-proclaimed "Never Trumper". This is how bad it has gotten for the Left, not that Ben Shapiro was ever a Liberal; he is just the opposite; however, Shapiro, like so many other principled people, know that this egregious double standard of the Left can no longer be left alone.

I just noticed the President standing beside this really hot chick in a Texas ball cap, and then upon closer inspection, I noticed it was our First Lady - Melania.

And, I thought to myself, no wonder Feminists and FemiNazis in the Democrat Media despise her so much. Then I fathomed, maybe, just maybe, they would like her better if she had cankles.

Well, the not-so-hot-chick-with-cankles did not get elected, so, it might be a good time just to get over it.

"Mad Men" can be addictive, so be careful.

Also, be aware of this: You and I grew up in that relative time period, and even though much of their social commentary is satirical in allegorical representation, some of it seemed very real to me, and kind of weirded me out a bit, especially the way they treated women.

I love the music from our era, but, those were strange times too. The best of it was very good, and the worst of it was very bad.

Stiletto heels is all the rage now with so called men in them, but probably not so much with the average BCN reader ... at least, I hope not.

The unique thing about this post that you did is that it is still getting views, more than ever - actually about 12,000 views in the last 4 or 5 months.

Quite remarkable it is, and I just had to mention it, and will probably mention it again.

This just sent to my BCN email:

"Well, exactly as your Sheriff Clarke Draft Committee has been predicting, Sheriff Clarke notified Governor Walker that he was resigning his position as the Sheriff of Milwaukee County, effective at midnight, yesterday morning.

The courageous black conservative Sheriff has been tight lipped about his future plans, but those of you who have been paying attention to our draft efforts will not see his resignation as a surprise.

His resignation will at long last free him to prepare for a U.S. Senate campaign in earnest — something he was unwilling to do while still taking taxpayer dollars to serve Milwaukee County.

That means it’s showtime, folks!"

Sheriff Clarke is running to represent Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate. The man would shake things up considerably, and, I hope he wins.

Hey, Bobby Tony, I hate to beg, but: Can you write another post like this one, or was it "lightning in a bottle?"

Regardless, this post has pulled away from the other very popular posts on BCN, and is firmly in second place, with over 34,000 views.

Bobby Tony: Can you make "lightning in a bottle" happen twice?

"Mad Men" is a "pseudo-realistic version" of everything from that era to the point of occasionally strong satire.

Extremely well written, well acted and well paced. I think you would like it.

It is nice to watch show where few people die, fewer still bleed, and while the language can get a bit salty, the story is not built on that vernacular.

Plenty of sex, and even more a plenty of political incorrectness; a lot of that.

I watched Mad Men with great enthusiasm, and it that great program is to be believed, your Advertising professor is mostly right.

The one ting that Facebook is doing now is getting all these "Suckers" to build out their website for free, while charging their little worker bees to have a more abundant access to the others, who might need what the "Suckers" might wish to promote.

For me, Facebook has outlived its effectiveness. I don't spend much time there.

I get it B.T.

The more we try to remove ourselves from the roving eye of Big Brother, the more the internet invites Big Brother into our lives through the likes of Google Facebook and all the wannabees. I sincerely think there is a backlash coming, and am finally proud of myself for the resisting of all the tracking of cookies, etc. crap that I have so far resisted here on BCN.

I will be writing more about the Facebook /rating everything /gang-force pressure/ Big Brother overbearance. It is finally realing itself for what it really is: beaufortcountynow.com

A few short years ago, I slowed down on my drinking to almost a trickle of that former stream, so it should be should be easy for me; however, if I do need a drink, I have more than a Fifth of "Jack" in my closet to imbibe, so all will not be lost or forgotten.
