Commented on A Question of EthicsBig Bob I’m not sure what your comment is even referring to. I was commenting on the video of the meeting as a whole.
I agree with Mr. Langley in that we are all members of the same body. “For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.” I believe all the commissioners are respectable men and all of them make valid points and raise appropriate concerns regarding the issues at hand. A little back and forth debate is a good thing if questions can be asked and answered without things becoming personal. The commissioners wont and shouldn’t always agree, they each bring their own point of view and field of expertise, but they also shouldn’t just vote in lock step with their faction to “stick it to the other guy”. If there are issues that need to be called out then they should be. We are told to rebuke our brother if we see him step out of the light, not out of hate, but out of love. That he may be ashamed and judge within himself his own ways. May we be wise as serpents yet gentle as doves. Let us not get too rebellious against one another that our intents become so harsh against our neighbors. “Vengeance is mine” so saith the Lord. Let us aim to be honest in our actions and endeavors toward each other, seeing the big picture beyond the political degree. If we be divided we fall.

Commented on A Question of EthicsWashingtonian I’m sure you’re probably right. I’m not too studied up on water treatment engineering, give me a few weeks to look into it and I could figure it out, but it just seems like a water treatment plant should treat the water effectively. If it’s not, we should know why.
And a sewage treatment plant dumping into the river just doesn’t sound good whether the water was treated or not, I’m sure it was probably an emergency due to flooding but still.

Commented on A Question of EthicsMr. Alligood seems like a top-notch county manager. He’s on top of things. 👍
I can imagine what Hood said is true about people not paying the sewer bill. Forget to pay lights or water it’ll get shut off to remind you haha but kinda hard to shut off the drain for nonpayment. Would have to be something that was included in the property tax. We should investigate how to get these water treatment plants up to par at the very least. The one in Belhaven obtained a permit from NCDEQ to dump into the creek last year, leading to a “no swim” advisory. I know someone who lab tested the tap water in Belhaven; they said “don’t drink it”. I wonder what all the restaurants use?

Also, I have never said I loved Trump. As far as your whole example with this Paula, I can’t comment because I’m not familiar with or whatever is going on with that. I can comment and say however that I do not believe Mr. T to be a Christian.

Commented on A Question of TitleAlso what about the power substation that is built on that piece of land.
Is the retaining pond to be dug beside the substation? Or will this have to be disassembled and relocated?

Commented on A Question of TitleOne can find the deed for this property online thanks to our digital register of deeds.
us5.courthousecomputersystems.com Somewhere, someone, was aware of this issue awhile back. This deed was written back in 1968, but was finally put into effect and uploaded back in July. Effectively redrawing the GIS, splitting the property. It’s just incompetence all the way around. Big Frank told you himself he decided to stay out of it. He would rather let a hired cabbage patch kid superintendent steer the ship, than provide the oversight he was elected to provide. The county commissioners have the power of the purse. Yet they decided to stay out of a land acquisition, handing the wallet and bargaining power to a spending junkie. As far as the land swap aspect of this situation that could have occurred without a monetary cost for the property, the process of contacting all of the heirs of Kugler Field to sign an amendment, was too much of a undertaking, even for Cheese. Simply easier to spend half a million, than to get 20 signatures.

Pay no attention to women who preach. As it was written:
“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.”

I’m for real dying right now just catching up on the details about this whole farce of an operation.
If you wanna build a structure, wouldn’t you think that being the owner of the land where it was to be constructed would be an essential starting component? Not this crowd, they got bows on the gold shovels and news cameras flashing, throwing a ceremony to dig a hole on property they don’t even own. What a bunch of a pompous jackass. Bunch of come when you call, no brains at all types.

What a shame that other than the few, the majority of our county leaders have demonstrated their breathtaking ignorance in all affairs.
They plan a multimillion dollar construction as if it were a playground kickball game. Who exactly stands to benefit from the $500,000 in this government to government transaction? Of course not the citizen I know. Lot of money going this way and the other. Who is in charge of keeping track of it all? Hopefully not our appraiser, his figures are a little questionable. Like I said before, these buzzards have come to pick us clean.

LandGlide says the property at 947 Hudnell St is 38.25 acres all owned by Washington City School Adm Unit.
The market value of the land is $6,150,609. The actual land value is $1,021,854. The building value is $5,128,755; but that building is to be demolished so this value is non applicable. $1,021,854 / 38.25 = $26,715.14 per acre land value (laymen’s estimate)

So Cheese is adding real estate appraisal to the resume now lol
How is the value of a piece of land determined by what the buyer has in their bank account? “How much does it cost?” “How much you got?” There is no way 4 acres is worth 500,000 unless gold can be mined on site Wasn’t the president recently charged for crimes involving the overvaluing of real estate? Seems there is precedent now for this exact situation.

Anyone aware of the prophecies to Abraham will know that the Muslim nations will never be at peace with any other nation that is not Muslim.
As it was written: Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered. And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael. And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

Commented on Elected Officials – Persons of InterestBCCitizen- Good point. Inmates are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and still possess all their individual rights, including the right to remain silent. By no means am I advocating for starvation.
It has been said “the fastest way to a man’s heart, is through his stomach.” If a man eats better on the inside than he did on the outside, subconsciously he will believe, “this isn’t such a bad place to be”. I have many friends who have at one point or another been incarcerated, we all make mistakes. I would rather though see a bland base diet, that contains all food groups to keep a person healthy, but not exactly what one would call “gourmet”. This acts as a subconscious deterrent, persuading the mind to follow the law for the good of everyone including those in jail.

Commented on The unintentional consequences of Luigi MangioneWhat is the generic symbol of healthcare?; The caduceus
What is the caduceus?; Not what they tell you. -And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.“ No medical professional, hospital, or copious amount of insurance are able to save anyone. If we are to suffer in the flesh, it is written we are blessed. As Christ suffered, so too shall we. The servant is not greater than the master. It is for our own sake, said the Lord, that the garden brings forth thorns.

Enforce the laws we have.
Round up criminal element and ship them off. Offer paths to citizenship for others that include learning our established principles of government, and the English language. Monitor the border proactively, not retroactively. But who are we kidding, the government will not get anything done. Everyone in government, uses the government to their own individual benefit. They are too busy lining pockets and trying to figure out the best way to shank each other. The American citizen is their last concern.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. Commented on The Real Story of ThanksgivingThanksgiving is fundamentally Christian and we should remember to give thanks to God everyday.
“Christmas” however is not Christian. Why don’t we actually call it what it is, the “Yule Tide” or “Saturnalia” festival. The Catholic Church repurposed the pagan winter festivities as the celebration of the birth of Christ. The problem is it is a lie, all evidence suggests Jesus was not born in the winter but in the spring. The pagans celebrated a birth on December 25, it was that of Tammuz, The son of Baal. Not to mention the whole Santa Clause thing. Do we think the Lord shall praise us for lying and deceiving our children? He will praise us not.
