This abomination in France against free speech is the reason we have to elect a strong supporter of free speech like Donald Trump, not a globalist wimp who goes along with censorship like Kamala Harris. Durov is not an American citizen, but what if this happened to someone like Elon Musk, who has already been threatened by the authoritarian censorship regime in the EU? We would need a very robust response like indicting the foreign officials involved for conspiracy against the civil rights of an American, and cutting off visas for citizens of any country that tries to threaten free speech of Americans. We would need strong, forceful and immediate action to defend free speech.
One should also note that the lefwing fascist Labour government in the UK has asserted it can arrest Americans for things they post on American websites. If they try something like that it needs to be soundly smacked down immediately. President Trump in his next inaugural address should state that our First Amendment freedom of speech is sacred to America and no interference with that by foreign countries will be tolerated.

Commented on Heartburn at the Beaufort County School BoardLittle Bobbie displays yet again how utterly ignorant he is. All public bodies have seating charts, whether it is congress, state legislature, county commission, school board, or whatever. Sometimes the bodies vote on them, but more often they are assigned by the presiding officer.
What is really weird about the Beaufort County School Board is that they seat their top bureaucrat up with the elected members, so Cheeseman can be the big cheese and whisper in board chairman T.W. Allen's ear, telling him what to do. You don't see the county manager sitting up their with the elected members of the county commission or the city manager sitting up there with the elected Washington City Council. Cheeseman thinks he is really special, and our rubber stamp school board majority seems to think so, too.

With rabidly leftwing and partisan Democrat biased outlets like ABC holding the debate, the questions to candidates should come from more neutral sources, or given how difficult to find those are in today's society, at least a balance of moderators. One solution would be two moderators, one chosen by each candidate. Another would be to use the Lincoln-DOuglas format where each candidate chose half the questions.

North Carolina has over 400,000 voters who do not meet the federal HAVA voter standards by having a drivers license number or last four of the social security number on their voter registration. The NC Board of Elections makes no effort to clean this up, even though many of those were registered AFTER HAVA went into effect. We also have a lot of deceased or moved voters, and probably foreign citizens that the state Board is doing nothing significant about, although some counties may be.

A good example of censorship in America is how the information on the Hunter BIden laptop was systematically surpressed. If that information had gotten out, polls showed it would have changed the outcome of the presidential election. But our crooked KGB . . err . . FBI was thick into censoring and suppressing that information.
Anybody on Fakebook knows that censorship is real and has been going on for some time. The Twitter files show it had been going on heavily there, too, before Elon Musk bought it.

Free speech is on the ballot in America. The Biden-Harris regime has been the most hostile to free speech since John Adams, while Trump is a friend of free speech.
What we need is a president who will publicly stand up for free speech and protect American free speech from tyrants in other countries. Those who work against free speech anywhere in the world, including foreign government officials, should be declared "personna non grata" and not allowed to travel to the US. In particularly egregious cases, such as if the EU twits do move against Trump, then foreign goverenment officials should be indicted in the United States criminally for conspiting against the civil rights of American citizens. Enemies of free speech are totalitarians and they should be given no quarter. These French twits are no better than Stalin.

Is BS Bob now trying to claim that Willie Horton was an illegal alien???? Illegal aliens are a crime problem on both sides of the Atlantic, which LEGAL immigrants are NOT. Where they come from is not the problem. The problem is rampant disrespect for the law, whether it is immigration law or criminal law.

The people not to elect to school boards are the woke and those seat warmers who are yes men for the bureaucracy. T.W. Allen, Eltha Booth, and Mack Hodges fall into both of those categories. We need a change. The conservatives are trying to get some reform but the rubberstamps for the bureaucracy have thwarted it so far. They need some reinforcements by getting rid of those three.

Marxist woke troll Little Bobbie is at it again, making up "facts" that don't exist.
The Democrats have been pushing hard the thing that the Jimmy Carter Commission told us was the worst thing for allowing voter fraud - mail in ballots. Virginia has identified and removed thousands of illegal aliens who had illegally registered to vote from the voter rolls. Texas is certain to be worse. In the 2022 election, the Texas Democrat Party was caught mailing out voter registration cards to Hispanics with the "US citizen" box pre-checked and a leading statewide Texas Democrat candidate was caught emailing for volunteers "to drive undocumented immigrants to the polls to vote."

They won't ask her the tough questions she cannot answer or report on her far left political record. They want to let her run on vibes instead of issues. I have been following this saga for a while and regret that the effort did not get any farther, but with that clique of Cheeseman brown nosers on the board, it was always likely.
Van Zant is right about how silly that argument by Cheeseman and his sock puppets was. Teachers are going to be a lot more imtimidated by administrators, especially a control freak like Cheeseman and anyone working for him, than a school board member. The real concern of that group was probably that the presence of a school board member may have lessened Cheeseman's ability to pressure the committee to get what he wanted. But they have made silly excuses all along to thwart curriculum reform. Another was that Durham shyster whining about the parents community standard committee having to meet Open Meetings standards. Duh! All government bodies have to do that and it is not a big deal at all. It was nothing but a silly excuse to block public input. I can understand the liberal Democrats like Mac Hodges and Eltha Booth eating out of Cheeseman's hand. They are all peas in a lefty pod. What is appalling is RINO T.W. Allen being Cheeseman's sock puppet. If T.W. Allen wants to function like a Democrat, why is he not honest enough to actually register as a Democrat? If Cheeseman says "jump", Allen asks "How high?"

A couple of articles posted earlier also bear on this problem. A major California medical school saw a huge decrease in their graduates passing the medical licensing exam after they started using DEI in admissions.
There has been a spate of near misses at airports wince the Biden-Harris regime started using DEI in hiring air traffic controllers. Some of the categories they give preference to in these critical positions were mindboggling like blind, deaf, and mental patients.

It is clear to me that they never expected anyone to compare one set of records with another, and when someone did, there was a smoking gun on illegal aliens registered to vote in North Carolina. While I might see a local Board of Elections not acting off of someone else's investigation, there was clear evidence that should have triggered their own investigaton but they chose to look the other way/

Unfortunately, North Carolina is way behind the curve on this and the problem is not at the county level but the partisan and corrupt state board of elections in Raleigh. We have hundreds of thousands of voters on our voter rolls that are non-compliant with the federal HAVA legislation and the NC Board of Elections is doing nothing to clean that up. There are lots of safeguards that could be done but are not. The Democrats want a loosey-goosey election system in North Carolina, and as long as they control the board of elections in Raleigh, that is what we are going to have. Many local boards go the extra mile when they can get away with it to tighten up the process, but the big problem is in Raleigh.

Commented on On politics and faithAbsolutely YES. Police statistics in gun controlled countries like the UK and Germany show an explosion in knife crime, including mass knifings.
The Czech Republic learned its lesson after years of totalitarian rule, first by the Nazis and then by the communists. They know an armed citizenry is a deterrant to totalitarianism, so they passed first a very strong gun rights statute, and then an even stronger gun rights amendment to their Constitution which is stronger than our Second Amendment. Fiercely independent Switzerland also maintains strong gun rights and has the world's second highest rate of civlian ownership of guns after the US. Switzerland even mandates that every able bodied male citizen keep a military rifle and ammo at home, ready to repel any invader. I think I know why you on the far left want to get rid of guns. It all has to do with an old saying about socialism that "you can vote your way into socialism but not vote your way out of it. You have to shoot your way out of socialism."

Commented on On politics and faithSo, if you Democrats do something like Hitler's 1938 Reich Gun Law and largely ban guns, a law still in effect in modern Germany. The result is mass stabbings and people driving vehicles into crowds. Nuts determined to kill will find a way to do it. The same is true in the guncontrolled UK where a migrant just did a mass stabbing in a party for little girls, killing three and sending nine to the hospital. If someone had a concealed carry gun handy, they could have shot the migrant before he stabbed all those little girls, but in the UK these days, if is not easy to have a gun handy for self defense.
I am sure that Germany's Jewish population wished they still had their guns when Hitler started rounding people up for the camps, but since you are a Hamas apologist, I doubt that would trouble you. Speaking of Hamas, Israel learned a valuable lesson about how gun control kills on October 7. Those people slaughered, raped, and tortured by Hamas should have had guns to fight back.
