Biden and Mayorkas, who let these illegal aliens in, should be indicted in all such cases as accessories before the fact.

As usual, this site's resident racist, Bigot Bob, wants to make everything about race. It is NOT. What is going on in our schools is far left ideology.

Unfortunately, schools don't teach history any more, they teach "social studies" which too often ought to be called socialIST studies.

It is the far left that is trying to destory our history, as George Orwell predicted.

The very purpose of the city "loaning" (there appear to be no documents that one would normally expect on a real loan) that money to the Housing authority was to buy those two substandard lots from Brooks and build houses on them. That is Conflict of interest with a capital "C".
Commented: Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 @ 1:44 pm By: John Steed
When a public official recognizes they have a conflict of interest, they have a responsibility to recuse themselves whether anyone else demands it or not. A Hyde County commissioner found that out the hard way when he was prosecuted for not recusing himself. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that if the government body you serve on is appropriating money to buy property from someone one that body that consitutes a conflict of interest for the public official involved. I keep hearing that Brooks can barely read or write but that is no excuse for this conflict of interest. Yes, he should at minimum give the money he received back.

Stan, I think your point is that if an elected official asks the board to recuse him, and they fail to do that, then even if they abstain, it will be counted as a yes vote. However, almost always when a public official states a conflict of interest, public bodies will allow them to stand aside on that vote. The failure of the public official to note his conflict of interest is an unethical act.

Seven women have accused Joe Biden of sexual assault, with the most damning being his former Senate staffer Tara Reade, who says Biden put his hand up her dress and penetrated her private parts with his finger, which is referred to as digital rape. This sexual attack on an employee who found it very unwelcome made this particularly egregious.

Then there is serial sexual molestor Al Gore. The leftwing Big Media just keeps covering up for lefties like Biden and Gore.

There is a secret fund in Congress to pay off the victims of sexual assaults on congressional staff. It has been asked but never answered if Tara Reade got one of those payoffs.

This case seems to be one of those where a male accused of sexual misconduct was denied due process in the university proceedings and so is suing the university. There have been a number of hefty settlements in such cases. And real courts are much better at seeing everyone has a fair shake than these university kangaroo courts.

You are burying your head in the sand, Prendiegirl, if you think this problem has been taken care of. Cheeseman just puts bandaids on a cancer and hope it goes away, but it keeps happening. It happened south of the river. It happened at Washington High School. Now it has happened at the Early College High School. This cancer needs serious treatment, not Cheeseman's useless bandaids.

The BCS policy on curriculum specifically prohibits teaching certain things, but gender transition ideology is NOT one of those that is specifically prohibited. It should be. Cheeseman does not want to take any real action because it might hurt his resume for when he decides to try to move up to a larger, better paying school district. The board needs to push him on things like this because he has no incentive to do them on his own.

An essential step for change in our schools is getting a solid curriculum, something that is totally under the control of elected local school board members. Unfortunately, too many of them want to bury their heads in the sand and lets others exercise that function and they just rubberstamp the result. That is a big part of what is wrong with our schools.

There are guidelines and recommendations from the state Board of Education, appointed by the governor, but that board is dominated by hard core leftists appointed by Governor Cooper and they are a big part of the problem. Weak minded local officials too often just follow their lead.

Big textbook / curriculum companies tend to pander to the liberal states with their products, making them full of "woke". A few states have stood up at a state level and said "NO" to these companies and insisted on non-woke curricula. Florida is a champion in this and Texas has also made great strides.

We need a school board that will take the bull by the horns on curricula. Our local board in the face of community opposition sidelined the "woke" Savvas social studies curriculum, but it is hard to tell what they are doing on that presently. Then they adopted the Bridges math curriculum which is not only Common Core but also packed with "woke". They claimed they would just not teach the Common Core part, but that was a lie because Common Core math assignments are coming home as homework. One was posted on this site.

Yes, Gary, brainwashed new teachers from universities are a problem, but the bigger problem, which is totally under the control of elected school board members, is having a woke curriculum. We need action, not words on that.

At present Cheeseman appoints the committees that recommend curricula. He has total control of that process. If he appoints too many younger teachers who have been recently indoctrinated in universities, then everyone should expect a "woke" result.

Oh, and good luck in your city council race. Too many on the city council, like on the school board, are low energy people who just go with the flow. Sadler has his set of poodles on the city council just like Chesseman has his set of poodles on the school board. We need energetic and informed public officials who make up their own minds.

Beaufort County used to have community schools. Places like Pinetown and Old Ford had their own elementary schools. Chocowinity, Aurora, Bath, and Belhaven had their own high schools. The education students received in those days was a heck of a lot better than what they receive today. Now, our present superintendant is fixiated on building a monster elementary school in Washington, larger than many of those high schools used to be. I guess he thinks that will look good on his resume when he tries to move up the ladder by applying for jobs in larger school systems, but it is NOT good for the children here in Beaufort County.
Commented: Friday, October 27th, 2023 @ 3:27 pm By: John Steed
The Beaufort County Schools have had numerous incidents of gender bender behavior and it keeps happening. Cheeseman is only going through the motions.

First, there was a male student south of the river that the school authorities allowed to change into girls clothing when he arrived at school and then change back when he left in the afternoon, hiding his fetish from his parents.

Then last year there was an incident of a teacher at Washington High School bringing in a speaker on gender transition.

Now we have the "Gender Unicorn" given out in the Early College High School program. What has Cheeseman done about that other than flap his gums? He won't tell us, and anyone who attended the meeting where this was discussed would know that. Cheeseman spoke extensively over someone at the Education First Alliance using an incorrect heading for the internet saying it was in Brunswick County (everything in the actual article said Beaufort County), but he gave no details as to what, if anything, he did to see that this did not happen again. One would expect him to obtain a signed agreement with the Community College that these things would not be allowed when high school students were in a class, but it is very doubtful if anything like that was done.

I have looked at Beaufort County Schools policy on curriculum and while it prohibits a number of things being taught, radical gender theory is not prohibited. It certainly should be. If Chesseman really wanted to do something, putting that in county school policy would be among the first things, but he has failed to do so or to bring it before the board.

Oh, and the school board chairman is a bad joke. He is Cheeseman's poodle, a total front man for the superintendant. The puppet strings are obvious.
Commented: Friday, October 27th, 2023 @ 3:11 pm By: John Steed
This is not their first rodeo. Inappropriate radical gender theory material has been presented earlier at Washington High School, and now we have it at the Early College Program. Whatever Cheeseman claims to be doing to stop this is not working, and he is very vague about exactly what steps (if any) he really took on this latest incident. Parents need details to know that this inappropriate type of material has been conclusively dealth with. Better yet, we need a new superintendant who cares more about children than his own personal reputation.

This woman is a woke nutter.

Mark Milley bragged about studying Marx, Lenin, and Mao's writings but apparent never people like Jefferson, Franklin, or Hamilton. It is good he is gone from our military and only the woke far left sees him in a positive light.

The "trumped up" phony charges against Trump are politically motivated, which even foreign leaders have publicly noted. Of course a hardline wokester like one of the Campbells would take them at face value. The lack of charges against the corruption of Hunter and Joe Biden is similarly politically motivated.

The Campbells may be useless as to any substance, but they are a far left version of the Babylon Bee.

The problem on the school board is flunkies for our liberal woke superintendant. We need school board members who serve the parents and taxpayers rather than serving the superintendant. It sounds like you yourself are totally woke, Prendiegirl. We have too many school board members who do not seem to comprehend that the superintendant is their employee, not their boss. That needs to change.

As usual, Little Bobbie, you do not keep up on real facts, just the leftwing narrative. The German Health Minister not long ago revealed the results of their government's study on the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine, the one most used in Germany. He did not reveal the results voluntarily but only after an opposition member of the Bundestag used a parliamentary inquiry to force disclosure.

That study involved over 45,000 people, half given the Pfizer vaccine and half given a placebo, and then their Covid history was followed, with the key metric being how many died of Covid. The German Health Minister was compelled to reveal that there was no difference whatsoever in Covid deaths between the two groups, meaning the vaccine did nothing.

Then there are the stasitics from Taiwan, which only counts people who died from Covid itself, not just with Covid, as Covid deaths. Their statistics showed slightly more deaths from the Covid vaccine (not sure which one was used there) than from Covid itself.

Stan, having this wokester on your site, along with her woke husband, at least provides some entertainment. A little humor to go along with Babylon Bee, although this couple don't realize the humor in their righting.

The growing totalitarianism of woke is shown by proposals both here and in Europe to criminalize "misgendering" someone who is mixed up what gender they factually and biologically are. Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling has said she would not call a biological boy a "girl" and would go to jail if she had to for it.

The Campbells are far left fruitcakes, and I guess if the site has to have token lefties, these loony birds are as good as any.

Summed up, Polish politics has gotten a lot more fragmented. The farthest right party, actually a coalition of smaller parties but functioning as a single party, Confederation, made gains but is still far behind the major parties of the right, Law and Justice on the populist side and Civic Platform on the traditional side. Only once since the fall of communism has a single party been able to achieve a majority in Poland by itself, and that was Law and Justice. Poland is back to a more fragmented situation but with a whole lot more seats in parliament for parties of the right than parties of the left. The result also means than one of the two major parties of the right will lead the new government, and it is Law and Justice with the better path to a stable coalition.

The meat grinder of a corrupt prosecutor was shown in earlier prosecutions of people associated with Trump who after they got their own situations over with revealed that prosecutors offered to let them walk if they would tell the prosecutor's narrative against Trump, and the prosecutor was wanting them to testify to things that simply weeren't true. These out of control political hack proseutors in these "destroy Trump" cases know that they can destroy the lives of co-defendants if they refuse to play ball.

This is worse than a banana republic. This is like Stalin's show trials. And the worst thing is, they are protecting the real crook, Biden.

THose who want to put deed records on computers remind me of those who insist on using voting machines, which are corruptable, instead of paper ballots. Computerized records are fine as a convenience for those offsite, but permanent records should be hard copy of critical documents.

That said, the real problem in the Register of Deeds office is a space problem, which has been called to the attention of the county commission several years ago by the previous Register of Deeds. Even space for more computer terminals would be a space problem. At one time, it was thought that the old Seaboard Savings and Loan building would go to the Register of Deeds for more space, but the county manager gave that to the finance department instead.

That's just a sneaky way to blame the victim. Only the extreme left and radical Islamists think there is any justification for what Hamas did. Even a prominent Muslim Imam in France has called upon President Macron to deport all the Islamists who back this stuff from France "without mercy" (his words). Those who try to justify or excuse terrorism are as evil as the terrorists themselves.

There goes Bigot "Blame the Jew" Bob again! Despite what he says, the terror inflicted by Hamas is NOT Israel's fault. And NO, Israel does not practice "apartheid", that is simply far left nonsense, the "blame the Jew" mentality.

When Israel declared its independence, local Arabs had a choice of staying and becoming full pledged Israeli citizens, with full rights as Israelis, which many of them did. There are even Arab Israeli parties in the Israeli parliament, which were part of the last coaltion government.

However, a larger number chose to reject and renounce Israel and flee. They made their choice and now have to live with it. Israel gave them the chance to participate as full citizens, but they rejected it.

That is just like American independence. British sympathizers had a chance to stay and become part of the independent American states, which many did, with full rights as Americans. Others chose to flee and renounce their opportunity to be Americans. Many pro-British planters from North Carolina, for example, fled to the Bahamas with their slaves. Many Bahamians today are descendants of those transplanted North Carolina British loyalists or the slaves that were taken with them from North Carolina.

When a country achieves its independence, one often has a choice to make on taking part or not. Some choose badly in those circumstances.

News operations and "fact checking" are usually separate arms of an organization. The article linked in the post above gives the source. It is even more appalling when so-called "fact checkers" ignore the news side of their own organization. Agency Press Francais operates the same way with separate news and "fact checking" arms, with the added problem that they are partly funded by the French government, which taints the spin on their "fact checking".

Fess up, 2nd Holocaust denier. Bigot Bobbie, you posted the far left meme that the Hamas terrorism is the fault of Israeli "apartheid". And it is your buddies, Hamas, that are the violent ones - beheading children, raping women, burning people alive. cutting the baby out of a pregnant woman, etc. Supporting terrorists NEVER brings peace, unless you want the peace of the grave for the victims. You are beneath contempt, Bigot Bob.

Oh, and like most conservatives, I never "google" anything. I search with a more honest and less biased search engine like Brave Search, DuckDuckGo, or even Bing. Google is anti-privacy, anti-free speech, and very biased.

Israel, hopefully, has learned the lesson. Civilian gun control there meant that Israeli citizens, other than the handful of authorized guards, had no guns to defend themselves against the Hamas thugs. More citizen guns and big mags would have helped a lot.

Actually, the best situation is Switzerland, where every able bodied male is required by law to keep a military rifle and ammo at home.
