Big Bob: Give an example of such, one that is not a Leftist cliche.

Steve: None of this makes sense to me.

This a perfect example of how I would lose my real estate brokers license that I have held since 1984.

Incompetence has a way of begatting more incompetence, so everyone better keep their eyes wide open.

Maybe if the Durham based attorney would have been less concerned with Stacey Davis's use of a publicly funded logo for her signs, and more concerned with a simple title search on the tract of land, where the Beaufort County Schools are building a hugely overpriced school building on the lowest point of the lot, an additional $500,000.00 of the public's treasure would NOT have been wasted in such a will-nilly manner - www.beaufortcountynow.com

Commented on Gladiator

Diane Rufino once told me that "Gladiator" was her favorite film of all time, but Diane said that about other films at other times, which revealed to me that Diane loved many things at many different times; however, was never distracted from she knew to be real, and what she knew to be real ... was legendary.

I agreed often with Diane about she knew to be so real; that was incredibly important not only to her, but should be to others.

After watching "Gladiator," yet again, this time with my dear wife of 46.6 years, I must agree with Diane that this film, with its fabulous soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerard running almost constantly in the background, is one of the greatest films ever made, and will forever withstand the test of time to remain so.

Randy Walker recently stated as much in an open meeting, as he was the alternative to Commissioner Richardson, which he professed was the "noble" position to take.

So, let me propose something here as a recurring math problem.

Over the last number of years, Commissioner Richardson has proposed all kinds of ideas to me, all looking forward, sometimes with just a hunch of an idea of what is best. We talk among ourselves, and some of those ideas never see the light of day, but a great many go forward refined.

Additionally, my ideas are subject to a refinement by The Hood, and some never see the light of day as well.

Over the years, when the varying Center-Left Coalitions vote against myself and Commissioner Richardson's promising process of conservative governing, which they invariably often do, in retrospect, The Hood /Stan plan turns out to be eventually right around 90% of the time to effect conservative governing, with the balance of 10% correct in opposition to a perfected conservative government, so I ask: Which side would you want to be on, the 90% side where you are mostly right, or the 90% where you are mostly wrong?

I can do math, and I know right from wrong, or just plain stupid, so that answer will always be simple for me, and I wager my constituents, obviously, understand this conundrum as I do.

Washingtonian: These "wise" decisions are made by the Center-Left Coalition far ahead of the open session meetings; notice from the meeting's video how few questions these Center-Left politicians answered, when asked by myself and Commissioner Richardson.

These "bipartisan" commissioners do not work well under the same strain of scrutiny that publicly elected officials are expected to withstand.

Steed: I questioned the incredible reasoning that a Durham based lawyer was not responsible for a simple title search on this land so conveniently purchased by the Center-Left Coalition.

Washingtonian: A public explanation should be in order.

At the next general meeting, I will ask the new Beaufort County Board Attorney to perform a "simple title search." which will be like closing the barn door after the horse has galloped off ...

You see Washingtonian: When the feckless Center-Left Coalition is on to something stupid, they generally stay "stuck on stupid" until the obvious fruition of completing the act of stupid.

It would, however, be appropriate in shining a public light on this sorry issue in open meeting.

Van Zant: By showing support for disloyal "Republicans" on such a large scale, for such a long time, the Beaufort County GOP is complicit in this unnatural behavior of abject RINOism.

Stephen Miller has been called many derisive names by the Non Patriot Left, but President Trump knows him as simply as "Brilliant."

Van Zant: In that meeting, on that day, there were those that had a collusive plan to waste 1/2 a million dollars, and there were your 3 Conservative commissioners ready to solve this grand error of incompetence by spending no additional tax dollars.

On this day, the compounded incompetence of the Center-Left Coalition won out.

Washingtonian: No Recall Elections in NC. No recent deed since this land was not traded in recent times.

No one knows exactly what happened since there is no title search in modern history, and no one, with a full working brain, constructs any dwelling without a title search, but ... The Beaufort County Schools did, and it just cost the beaufort County Taxpayers 500,000.00.

Yeah Will Simmons: That is an image I am proud to NOT BE SEEN in.

I have voted against every aspect of this ill conceived misadventure, but I did vote for the 4 acre swap to get these fools out of trouble; however ...

There was NO shame to found as they wasted yet another $500,000.00.
Commented: Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 @ 11:01 pm By: Stan Deatherage
As a county commissioner, I went into that meeting fully believing that the Center-Left Coalition would have swapped 4 acres at NO COST rather than obligate the Beaufort County Taxpayers for a HALF a MILLION dollars to buy unneeded property.

I reckon I was wrong for giving the Center-Left Coalition a modicum of credit for possibly having moderately working brains. I often give far too much credit to the political opposition.

Hopefully, this will be the last time that I do so.

CV: I cannot state this enough: This one issue is a simple, but effective litmus test for governing stupidity ... a stupidity that has raised it head far too often in recent years here on the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners.

Concerned Taxpayer: We all do the best we can, and then sometimes, and on hopefully very rare occasion, we may fall short.

Having said that, when the money is on the table, and I am talking other people's money, I have always made a point of "knowing stuff, a whole lot of stuff," and then I usually hire people who similarly know varied other stuff before the deal is done.

I pray that Beaufort County's bureaucrats would similarly take that same approach as I do, because ... Other People's money is definitely on the table with this incredibly monstrous spend, of the People's Money, on this hugely priced, and poorly positioned school.

My advice to bureaucrats in Beaufort County, and in America; and to their associative politicians; some dimwitted, others much smarter: START KNOWING STUFF!

A BIG changing of the guard is a foot, and it will be relentless.

Jack Maggio wrote: "A more pressing concern is the suspicious timing of the four-acre property ownership change, which was close to the timing of the grant award. Why has that (NOT) been discussed by the commissioners?"

Because Jack, the 3 Conservative Commissioners were either not notified in open session, or otherwise; while, the 4 members of the voting block, known as the Center-Left Coalition, either had that information in private, or were given that information at the same time as the conservative Republicans (which I doubt), and deeply suspect that it was the former since two members of the Center-Left Coalition are married to school board members.

As a county commissioner, I first try not to do what is ignorant. Spending 1/2 million dollar to buy land because the Durham based School Board attorney failed to conduct a simple title search is one big piece of the stupid tree; electing to spend 500,000.00 rather than trade 4 acres (of unused school property) in a swap, at no cost, is yet another bigger piece of that same stupid tree.

After serving for 26 years in government, stupid politicians and their stupid bureaucrats are really starting to piss me off in a major way.

We have seen what abject stupid governing has done to our Representative Republic over the last 4 years; much longer if you count the Non Patriot Democratic Socialist Lawfare in the first Trump term. Do we really want our local politicians to be equally stupid?

This one issue is actually a governing litmus test on whether one is a Leftist of thoughtful, on whether one is stupid or smart.

Big Bob never gets into the specifics on any issue other that to provide Leftitst speak. This is how Leftists operate.

We are long past diplomacy on the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners when the Center-Left Coalition drives headlong down the path toward abject stupidity.

Big Bob: It is quite natural that you would jump on for the ride.

You are the last person to render an opinion on one's spiritual acumen.

Actually, one's spiritual walk is a direct link between the one on that walk with the one who commands that obedience of a spiritual devotee; otherwise, it is none business of yours ... We should all refrain always in rendering opinions on the piety of others.

Nothing screams guilty like preemptively pardoning family members for long specific time periods, who benefitted from the nefarious dealings of the Biden Crime Family; the man who participated in gain of function research, for research, that was the nexus of covid; and the entire incompetent January 6th Committee comprised of only Democratic Socialists and RINOs who despise Mr. Trump.

My advice to all patriots: Do not let up on the exposing of all corrupt politicians; the collusive cheating to win elections, like the Presidential election of 2020.

Please come and make a difference here in Beaufort County at the Republican county convention in March.

For the most part, the local GOP, filled with nominal Republicans that favor the Center-Left Coalition because these GOP "Nominal Republicans" are in favor of wasting taxpayers money at the local level. I do not know why the current local Beaufort County GOP desire the abject waste of taxpayer dollars, but this is who they are, and it is well proved.

I actually do not need the local GOP to get elected or re-elected, and when certain elements of these Nominal Republicans work against this Conservative, it generally helps my vote totals rise.

Where these active RINOs hurt the Conservative cause is when they go out of their way to damage other Conservatives that are new to the Political /Governing Avocation, just to keep long standing original Conservatives, like me and Hood Richardson, from having the help of real conservative Republicans, to gain control, whereby we would demonstrably change the governing dynamic here in Beaufort County.

The Separation Movement of Counties is growing now that it is well understood that Democratic Socialists cannot or will NOT govern with a modicum of intelligence at the local level.

I have spoken to many county commissioners from states, where their counties are subservient to the dictates of Democratic Socialists Dingbats, and who are NOT qualified to govern or lead, are mostly ready to secede to other far better governed Red States.

Is it any wonder that these counties wish to join the state next door, like the states of Washington's and Oregon's eastern counties now begging to secede to Idaho for example?

Obviously that was not the case.

Beaufort County's Commissioners are politically subservient to the Center-Left Coalition, a bipartisan majority that swaps votes in a willy-nilly manner to share power, regardless of the cost to Beaufort County's Tax Payers.

This sophistic voting pattern by the Center-Left Coalition, membered by two Democratic Socialists and two RINOs, is that this voting block has been a political cancer upon the leadership of the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners for decades. Their collective depth of knowledge when it come to governing is an inch deep and a mile wide.

What is incredible here, regarding the RINOs working closely with the Democratic Socialists here in Beaufort County, is that they have the full support of the Beaufort County GOP.
