Well, Little Bobbie, what do you have to say about the Nazi war criminal doctor who invented sex reassignment surgery? I would certainly call him a pig, too, but I doubt you aould.

The Nazis were bad and it is good they were destroyed, and another totalitarian movement that started in Europe that killed and oppressed even more people, communism, is still a threat today. Also, in the current climate the green totalitarianism whose figurehead is Greta Thunberg, is a huge threat to freedom and democracy.

But on balance, many good political ideas have come out of Europe, including many political thinkers behind concepts of freedom and democracy. The current trend in Europe is a good example of that.

A decade or more ago, the state of Florida set up its own property insurance company because the rates of the commercial insurance companies were too high. Private insurance companies have sporatically left the market since then. Personally, I do not care much for government competing with private companies, but that is what has been happening in the Florida insurance market.

2020 saw the country's only systematic attack across multiple states in the courts of the rules that underpin election integrity, and the undoing of many of those rules through the Marc Elias lawsuits. That left the election system open for the shennanigans of the Zuckerburg funded organization to monkey with the elections. Our country has seen localized political machines in the past that have been thoroughly corrupt but nothing on the scale of the Elias and Zuckerberg scheme. Some of those problems created are continuing.

The serious problem with the 2020 election came from a massive campaign in many states by leftwing lawyer Marc Elias to sue states to weaken election fraud protections in their laws, using Covid as a convenient excuse. In Democrat run states, they did a "sue and settle" dance to repeal laws by judicial fiat rather then legislative action. Our election fraud protections were severely weakened by this corrupt scheme. That then opened the door by shady actors like Mark Zuckerburg to dump money into questionable campaigns to produce pro-Democrat ballots, including widespared use of the corrupt practice of ballot harvesting. That combination of politicized lawsuits and targeted money was never seen before in American politics. It has led, among other things, to a number of states prohibiting outside groups funding election activities through officiel election agencies.

You haven't followed what has happened to medicine since Obamacare and all its bureaucracy. There has been a huge consolidation in medicine, with conglomerates and corporate medicine now dominating. Individual doctors have lost their independence. Covid is a good example where doctors who followed their own professional views that were diferent from corporate medicine were punished. I value the opinions of doctors who still have their own independence. Corporate medicine? Not so much. Some highly regarded doctors broke with the Big Medicine narrative during Covid, including some from very prestigious insitutions like the Oxford University Center for Evidence Based Medicine. You can believe that political hack Fauci all you want, but I give greater weight to places like Oxford. One of the world's leading epidemiologists and viroligists, who is also a medical professor at Oxford, was one of the leaders in the Great Barrington Statement of medical professional who disagreed with Fauci's lockdowns.

Those targets are EU imposed, and as long as Sweden is in the EU, they are subject to them. The previous Swedish government was all-in on this stuff. What they are really addressing is EU mandates, specifically the EU Green Deal, which Poland's prime minister denounced as "the expensive climate policy of the EU". If you are compelled by the EU to deal with it, nuclear is a much better way, as Poland itself is also doing. But Poland is using coal as long as it can. Poland's coal fired electricity was some of the cheapest in Europe, until the EU Green Deal came along. Now France's nuclear power is some of the cheapest. Wind and solar powered Germany? That is the most expensive electricity in not only Europe, but the world and has been since Merkel got seriously into the Energie Wende.
