Dick Butkus made watching defensive football fun because one never knew to what level of pure toughness Middle Linebacker Butkus would marshal his violent skills to strike fear in his opponents.

I will always remember Butkus as an influence in my desire to play defense, as well as offense, while faulting him for his sport teaching me that I would never be as talented, or as tough as this legend of a sport that demanded a physical specimen must play this sport with all one's heart and all one's soul.

Dick Butkus accomplished this; so many of the rest of us did not. Butkus was simply the man among all men when it came to the level of play necessary to be great, and remembered in the NFL's long history of great players.

Steve Rader told me of a voting plan where all 7 county commissioners would run every 2 years, where all citizens would get 7 votes every two years in county wide at large voting /14 votes over a 4 year period, where now citizens only get 2 votes in that same 4 year period. It sounded like a workable plan, with "single shot voting" for some if desired, or needed.

What this plan could effect is to get some real Republicans on the board of commissioners, straighten out a number of important issues, set the board up for a Conservative management plan going forward in terms of budgeting, policy and oversight, and then cut the number of commissioners from 7 to 5 (my idea to help better manage local issues).

That plan would be a step in the right direction for Beaufort County.

All subsidies from all forms of government should end, even for oil companies.

All oil leases approved under the Trump administration should be reinstated, or ended by congressional legislation.

Immediately end all NGOs (public private partnerships - what a scam), and finally, one more thing: I cringe every time a RINO uses the words stake holder(s).

Truth Knower: Space is not the problem. We have enough space until more space can be built, which is now considered where, when and how much.

Commissioner Richardson reported that the hard copies are no longer being recorded as in the past; the Register of Deeds takes umbrage with that assessment.

The issue is to what extent which is what, and the proper path forward. This issue has nothing to do with space.

CV: I am familiar with such: These are the natural forces, and there is no way to know now which causes what, and especially how to fix it, but this I do know: Keep plastic out of the ocean; recycle everything or repurpose it by breaking it down; and grow stuff; then Mankind has done its part.

Government needs to have a role but it would be best handled at the local level.

The federal government would surely mess it up, and that could also be true at the local level; however, it has a better chance to work at the local level.
