I dont know about Climate Change, but I do know we need a clean environment and clean water. Its a done deal, all we can do now is weep for what is lost.

I miss the days when it was election day instead of election month. Used to be college students away from home voted absentee and those in the military. Everyone else went and voted on election DAY.
Personally I still vote election day. Went to early voting once and they put a number in the book and on my ballot so they could match up the ballot to me. That did not sit well with me.

There is no internal transparency at all. The appropriate time of reckoning was months ago. A significant number of the executive committee is wanting the issues dealt with. The crooked leadership has delayed for months and is now attacking working members of the committee and trying to illegally have them removed. It is not the honest brokers on the committee that are blocking having these issues dealt with. What we are seeing played out before us is the reckoning that will come from people such as this as they delay for the time to erase all opposition. I'm sure the plan is then to move on after leaving a trail of mistreated people, making a mockery of executive committee rules including due process, and running more good people out of the party entirely. The result of this trail of destruction will lead to a local Republican Party even more alienated from honest people capable of recognizing corruption or even caring about corruption at all.
Ignoring and erasing the results of the last county convention while operating in the form of an illegal, unaccountable shadow committee are not the actions of anyone worthy of a leadership position. The gyrations going on over the last few months are the preparation for sweeping these major issues of abuse of power under the rug. What we are seeing here is about as bad as it gets.

The corruption of the RINO leadership, especially in the state senate, is quite real, and it impacts real people. Phil Berger's corrupt deal with the CCA to shut down our shrimpers in return for some campaign cash, known as Shrimpgate, is a good example, as is Jimmy Dixon's attempt to put the raw milk independent dairies out of business for payola from a special interest, both this past year, were very real. Kidwell and the House Freedom Caucus played the key role in stopping both of those travesties. So is Berger's NC Green New Deal that is already raising our electric rates and his Obamacare Medicaid expansion that is raising health costs for everyone else. Unfortunately the Freedom Caucus was not able to marshall enough votes on those. The thin red line that sometimes is able to stop this corrupt nonsense is the House Freedom Caucus, and that is why the special interest boys are trying to take them out. How much of this Dixon explained to Armstrong when he came down here to recruit him is questionable as all they really needed was a warm body.
Would Kidwell have been a lot smarter not to get involved so much in the workings of the local party? Definitely. But for people outside the bubble of the party organization, what happens in the legislature has a whole lot more impact on their lives than what happens within the local party organization. One could say, well if Kidwell goes, then Freedom Caucus vice chairman Rep. Ben Moss, could just carry on. The fact is that the same RINO cabal that is after Kidwell is after Moss, too, as well as four other leaders of the Freedom Caucus. They want to put the Freedom Caucus out of business so that no effective group will be there to stop the leadership's corruption. Darren Armstrong is just a convenient placeholder in that process.

Commented on Primary “Elections” ImportanceIt is becoming VERY apparent that there is a huge disconnect between folks in the old guard and those involved with the new guard of Conservative politics.
Factions of the old guard want to maintain control and keep things "as they've always been". The new guard sees where the issues are, they ask hard questions and the old guard doesn't like that because it takes them out of their comfort zone; they're stuck in their ways and would rather go down with the ship than call things as they are. If the issue of calling out Kidwell is dividing the local GOP as bad as some are indicating (I really think only a select few are pissed off about blowback on Kidwell), it shows that some have absolutely no clue about what in the hell's actually going on in their own backyard....because they're so focused on Kabuki theatrics in Raleigh. It's beyond stupid.

RINO Hunter: I agree. There needs to be a reckoning, and then we move on ... But ... Without the same know-nothing people occupying space in leadership positions in the Beaufort County GOP.
That reality has gone on for far too long, doing far too much damage to real Conservatives that well realize that the RINO element will eventually finish off the Republican Party of Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump, and others like them.

Van Zant, I do not see anyone on here defending the actions of Chairwoman Garris. To avoid the sort of turmoil over the allegations that have been raised, there is clearly a need for more internal transparency. The sooner the party can get to the bottom of these things and get them resolved, the better. There comes a time when there needs to be a reckoning and then move on.

Faced with attempts to review and bring some accountability to all the shady business done by these party thugs lately, the party thugs are actually doubling down and attacking more good people with ridiculous charges and no due process whatsoever. To the apologists (maybe it's not plural) for these gangsters that say this is small potatoes next to the important work these ruthless perpetrators of evil are doing politically, I say BS. Perhaps the apologists are actually the perpetrators. If not, they are just as guilty.
Innocent people are being mistreated. That means something to me. It should mean something to any fair-minded person.

"Change" has always been a buzzword used by the left and the Democrats. Conservatives vote for specific issue positions, not something as vague as "change". You seem fond of Mitt Romney, who as a senator from Utah was one of the worst RINOs in DC, terrible on a wide range of issues. It is telling that as a Romney fan, you are also a fan of Armstrong. Two peas in a pod? The "useful idiots" are the ones who try to blur positions on real issues and try to get us to vote on some different basis. You have failed, in multiple posts, to tell us one single issue you think Armstrong is better on than Kidwell. Lets talk issues, not "feelings". The latter is also something Democrats like to focus on.

He has the highest conservative rating ever achieved in the General Assembly on the Civitas legislative ratings. Why in the world would we want to give up that sort of record for someone who cannot even articulate what his political views are, or maybe just does not want to tell us? Or maybe he is waiting for a consultant to tell him what he needs to say to try to get elected? When Kidwell first ran, he articulated a comprehensive agenda of conservative policy, and he has stuck to it. When I vote, I look at policy positions and policy records. Kidwell's is excellent. Armstrong's is almost non-existent.
It is not a matter of who you like or dislike on a personal basis, but who will pursue conservative policies and be effective in achieving them. Kidwell has an excellent record on both counts.

Janet: My observation, after nearly three decades of politically dealing with RINOs, these nominal "Republicans" always embrace the status quo, while possessing an unhealthy aversion to principled common sense.
On the other hand, RINO Whisperers have the astute ambition to use RINOs as if they are tools; simple, rudderless hypocrites that can be managed to do their bidding, which actually makes these Whisperers accomplices to a grand political mendacity.

While shooting this woman in self defense was clearly justified, it is more satisfying to wound them and then see them prosecuted in federal court for assault with t deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer. Having these nutjobs rot in prison may be a more effective deterremt

In other parts of the world, particularly Europe, water cannon have been particularly useful in dispersing mobs. A good soaking in January weather in the north should sent them home in a hurry. Since there is probably little of that equipment in the US, a good substitute would be pumper fire trucks. Hose them down and watch them Get Out of Dodge.
