Commented on What does it mean to be a Conservative?Concerned Taxpayer & John Heermann: we are taxed at four levels: the city, county, state, and federal government. Each level is orders of magnitude larger as you go up. Currently, 40% of all of the country's income finds its way into one of those four divisions. The governments use this money to redistribute it to their individual causes. In your opinions, what can and should we do at the city level to be more efficient?

This is just another example of how Phil Berger is in the hip pocket of Red China and doing their dirty work to destroy American business and open the door for Chinese competitors. By destroying our seafood industry, he helps China's dominance with its farm raised seafood, which is often of questionable quality.
"China Phil" did the same thing with the NC Green New Deal, HB951, where he is pushing types of energy heavily dominated by Red China - wind and solar - and trying to destroy American energy like coal and gas. Phil Berger is an enemy and a traitor to America.

Lets not forget that RINO Phil Berger gave us the NC Green New Deal with a cram down rewrite in the senate in order to pander to Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper, "woke" energy monopoly Duke Energy, and the solar and wind grifters, and Little Timmy Moore helped him cram it through the House.

Do you know why no one on this forum ever bitches about Washington? Its because they are all afraid of retaliation and want favors down the road.

Have you ever found that some dilapidated buildings arent even listed in the tax records? Have you ever accused the city Housing authority of corruption, then requested public records, only to be ignored? How you ever found that lawyers will lie and throw shade on a citizen, to get on behalf of their clients? Have you ever complained about a new housing development near you only to find the police show up to write traffic tickets on your neighbors going to work the next day? Have you ever found that the NC state regional offices are all slack and behave the same as the City of Washington towards citizens. Have you ever reported to a policeman in a "see something,say something reference, only to have them look at you like you are a criminal and bothering them. Do you think City of WAshington Govt is conservative? Have you ever tried to engage the City Govt as an outsider of Govt? If you did, were you told, "I dont know,I'll have to ask the city manager." And then once they do, they wont even speak with you. Have you read all the rules,regs, ordinances on zoning in Washington? Do you know what each one means and how it affects the people? Have you ever tried to reach a staff or employee on a Friday? Have you ever reached out as a simple citizen and been outright ignored? Have you ever been told the Zoning restriction and allowances mean whatever we say it means? Have you ever tried to discuss an issue with them, and been told if you dont like how we do things then hire a lawyer. Have you ever been told I dont have time for you, I'm busy running for Mayor? Have you ever reported an issue and then found that they sought retaliation via their powers. 2 continued next:

Seeing your Progressive ideas, you might just get elected...as a DEMOCRAT! When you and the City Manager get together with your shared dreams to make Washington Great, you may then become each other's puppet, and of course all cabals protect their puppets, because that is their power base. And thus,in this way, the corruption continues. I just dream of the day that Govts and Bureaucracies, both local and at the NC state level Stop circling their wagons to protect themselves from inquiring citizens just seeking our natural rights. Tillis said he agreed with Padilla on some of Padilla's rants at that press conference, but did not say which ones. ALL of Padilla's rants were open borders crap. So what part of Padilla's open borders crap does Tillis say he agrees with?

It is important to remind the people of this nation (99% who have not served themselves since the creation of the all volunteer military) what it takes to give us the freedoms we enjoy. This is more important given all of the things happening with China, Iran, Russia, North Korea and more. Hegseth served low enough in the ranks not to be corrupted by the bureaucratic and political issues that have been detrimental to the military over the past 20-30 years. His leadership and vision to bring back the focus on lethality and the warrior ethos within our armed forces is vital and necessary. The sharp increase in recruitment since Trump was reelected is a clear demonstration that the people who serve and protect America, many who come from multiple generations of veterans, didnt agree with the Biden/Obama eras of DEI and mismanagement in DoD.

Commented on What does it mean to be a Conservative?Our nation was founded because the people were tired of being overtaxed. The series of taxes that led to the Revolution were adopted by the British parliament, but since George III was the face of the British government, he was the target of people's anger. He certainly did not object to those taxes, so that was justified.
The Democrats of today tax us more than the British parliament did in those days, so it is the Democrats who are the modern tax tyrants.

Commented on What does it mean to be a Conservative?Wasn't our nation started because We the People opposed an actual King? Were we not opposed to taxation without representation? Did we not fight back when those who would oppress us came for our firearms, the AR-15s of the day, at Lexington and Concord? Don't our founding documents lay out a limited federal government so that the sovereign states could represent their people according to what they believed best? People shouldn't fear their government, governments should fear their people. They do work for us after all, not the other way around. Its sad to many people don't realize this or remember it. Its a travesty the bureaucrats and seemingly more often the judiciary don't understand this either.

Speaking of kind, your comment was well received, and when I read this great kindness within your commentary to my long suffering wife, she kind of teared up a bit due the fact that all grades of incredible mendacity hurled toward me and my family over the years, as I am the first Conservative elected in the history of Beaufort County, in 1994, at least one with an R by his name.
