For years, we have depended on the integrity of the American justice system, and most of it still works, such as here in North Carolina, which nobody is trashing. What is appalling is that in some places like New York, the Rule of Law no longer exists, and that is a threat to the integrity of the entire system which must be corrected. While one cannot generalize from the banana republic standards of the failing New York judicial system, it is not something we want to spread. Indeed, other states should no longer extradict people to New York because fair trials no longer exist there.

It is against the concept of the Rule of Law and indeed downright un-American to run for an office like Attorney General or District Attorney on the platform of using your office to prosecute a political opponent. Yet that is EXACTLY what both New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg did. And both of them followed through with their campaign pledge to abuse their office for political purposes. As long as corrupt officials can get away with things like that, the judicial system they work in is corrupt up to its eyeballs. New York's "justice" system is a disgrace to America.

Not on planet earth. On earth, wages earned for work get paid. If I offered you 100 grand to speak for an hour, you would take it. What work did CT perform for Harlan? Yeah…..vacations, his mom’s rent, private jets. What work did long dong do for all that?

I stand by my post. The American judiciary is one of the best in the world. I will say that even if Trump slips the noose.

Btw I’m sure all good people who represent the justice system in BC appreciate how easy you trash them.

From the article: "Voting for Trump is not a moral option. It is a matter of civic duty. It is an act of democratic defiance against a political system that has become dangerously, structurally, morally corrupt."

I agree. My wife agrees. (She was the first Trump believer in the family)

When the illicit "verdict" was handed down, my wife asked me to go online and find us a TRUMP flag. When the flag arrived this week, I brought down our American flag and hoisted the new TRUMP flag. "TRUMP 2024 Save America Again!"

Don't confuse my intentions with those who wish to destroy America. I think the America I believe in is in great peril. I served America in the U.S. Army. I believe in America. I think America is the greatest country in the world. Well . . . I did . . . until first Barack Obama and now Joe Biden (under Obama's puppeteer control) took the reins of this once great nation.

Folks, the 2024 election is critically important. After his first term, TRUMP now knows who the snakes are (certainly including RINOs), he knows how they operate, and he knows where they hide. He just needs to finish the job and flush them out for all to see.

God Bless America and God Bless Donald J. Trump!

The original article is nothing but a smear job by the leftwing media to 1) try to cover Merchan's genuine conflicts of interest, and 2) to intimidate the Supreme Court on some key upcoming cases. I can understand why they published it to try to help the Democrats, but I fail to understand why it was republished here.

Bolshevik Bob exhibits the blatant double standard of the far left. He gets his panties all in a twist over things that do not violate any rules for a conservative judge or justice but sees nothing wrong when a far left Democrat hack judge like Juan Merchan blatantly violates the written ethics rules on political contributions and financial advantage to family members.

In an honest court, truth does come out, but in a knagaroo court, it is lies that come out, whether it is in Moscow or Manhattan. There does not seem to be a dime's worth of difference in the political hackery in the courts in those two places.

Kangaroo courts are where democracy goes to die.

Being paid to give speeches was EXACTLY how the Clinton Crime Family grift worked. Liberal putlishers paying huge advances for books has been a gambit for grift for years, too, as has people buying huge quantities of such books so that the writer makes money.

Bigot Bob is just engaged in more of that high tech lynching of a black man he finds "uppity". One thing the far left has never been able to stand is a black man who thinks for himself and takes conservative positions. They want them all to stay on the Democrat plantation.

CG - being paid for a book or speaking engagement is not being on the take. The comparison is laughable and frankly racist.

Ive heard of an apology tour but the "excuse" tour is a new one. Good luck with it.

I'm not worried RH. The founding fathers formed a government with 3 branches. Right now, the justice system is the only thing holding us together because in court, the truth comes out. Be it right or left, truth matters.

MAGAs record in court is less than stellar. Way less.

As an aside, Stan careful with the "no reason to exist" stuff. Your slip is showing.

Steed, I agree with you in your statement that the school building situation is a distraction from other matters that people within the County may not be aware of.

This may be a "city" matter but I feel the County should weigh in on the business of our downtown district turning into a "black-centric" (words of an official who shall remain nameless) little Switzerland.

Rumour has it that the City is pushing for a "cityscape" that would encourage what THEY classify as "minimal traffic in the downtown area". It sounds as if they are trying to mirror what the City of Greenville and the Pitt County Commissioners are doing....which could prove to be very costly to Beaufort County taxpayers as well as a political nightmare for those involved.

The Summer Festival has been a test run for their proposed downtown trolley service (a service that we would ultimately pay for), so I hear. As Mr. Jerry McRoy has written, I'd be very cautious about following Pitt County's lead. Things are wonky

Notice how they mentioned Bohemian Grove and tagged Justice Thomas (very interesting, btw) but if WE were to do that to the opposing side, we'd be accused of spreading "QAnon Conspiracy Theory" and slap a "disinformation" public label on us to shut everything down.

Read the actual article CG. Being paid to write a book or make a speech is not the same as CTs grift. Harlan Crow pays the man’s big bills.

We may have to force some countries to take back illegal alien migrants. Venezuela, for example, emptied its prisons to send us its criminals and probably does not want them back. In such cases, we could use our military to seize a bit of their territory, deposit their illegal aliens there, and then leave. For example, Venezuela has some islands on their coast. Our navy could seize one and then we could just leave them their illegal alien migrants there for them. After leaving off their migrants, our navy just leaves.

Good catch, Country Girl. The Democrats and their MSM media mouthpieces, like liberal CNBC, are trying to intimidate our conservative majority on the Supreme Court as a number of critical issues come before them, and this smear campaign is a major effort at intimidation. The attacks on Justice Thomas are in the same vein as the silly flag attacks on Justice Allito. The group quoted by CNBC is a leftwing group trying to end a conservative majority on the SCOTUS.

As your article points out, far left Justice Katanji Jackson-Brown is actually the queen of receiving gifts but the leftwing media like CNBC want to sweep that under the rug. Jackson-Brown is the statist twit who is a key free speech case said from the bench that she did not want the First Amendment to "hamstring the government" Here is another one on Jackson-Brown: www.breitbart.com

There is a reason why polls consistently show that the American people regard the MSM as biased and do not trust it, and their participation in intimidation of our Supreme Court is just another part of that.

PJJ, I think this new school boondoggle may be a "bright and shiny object" to try to distract from the school system's huge failures in educating our children as shown by so many low scores by Beaufort County schools, and particularly in Washington on the state standardized tests. That has nothing to do with buildings and everything to do with a subpar curriculum. The school board members up this year are nothing but rubberstamps for our liberal superintendant. The tail is wagging the dog, and that is where the problem lies.

It is very noticable that local young people working as cashiers have a hard time making change correctly. Their math skills have been degraded by Common Core math, yet Cheeseman's appointees proposed, and his school board sock puppets rubberstamped a woke new math curriculum last year based on, you guessed it, Common Core. One of his top staff even tried to lie to the new conservative school board minority to say that the curriculum was not Common Core, but confronted with the evidence had to backtrack and admit that it was. The rubberstamp school board majority approved it anyway.

Another example is cursive writing which state law requires schools to teach but it is a hit and miss proposition here in Beaufort County. I have talked to a number of parents who complain that their children have not been taught cursive. One mentioned going to a restaurant out of town where the menu was in cursive, and his children who had gone to Beaufort County Schools could not read it. It might as well have been written in Greek.

Beaufort County Schools are failing our students in curriculum, NOT in buildings.

There should be zero tolerance for use of deadly force by illegal aliens against border guards. Deadly force should be responded to immediately with deadly force. That is the only way to stop this nonsense. Poland needs to ditch that globalist buffoon Donald Tusk.

A new school isn’t going to fix the disappointing results from WPS With a declining population why build some giant monstrosity - scale it back and use the money to improve performance in all the city schools. It’s frankly embarrassing- people complain about Washington being over run with retirees when the fact of the matter is - who would move here with school age children. Seems like they like new shiny onjectsbwirh big price tags instead of student performance.

RINO Hunter: The Democratic Socialist Party, now filled up with far too many Non Patriot Leftists, has NO reason to exist. The incredibly corrupt DOJ, led by the corrupt and incompetent Merrick Garland, is just the extended muscle of the Biden Crime Family.

Also, let us not forget that the corrupt DOJ, and to a lesser extent the corruptly incompetent FBI, was tainted, then ethically destroyed by the Obama Administration, which, if you remember, was the most corrupt administration of our lifetimes before the Idiot President assumed the highest office in our Republic.

Paul Manafort and Roger Stone were convicted of failing to register as foreign agents, a law that had rarely been enforced before then but was technically on the books. Now that it is being enforced, what about Hunter Biden? His involvement with a number of foreign interests in Ukraine, China, and other places were much more egregious that what Stone and Manafort were involved in. Where are the charges of failing to register as a foreign agant against Hunter Biden? Daddy Joe's corrupt DOJ isn't touching him. That is just another part of America's two tier justice system based on politics.
