Not memorizing dates etc, but learn. Learning means changing behavior and is exactly how we don’t repeat mistakes of the past.

Fact - some white men are racist. How can you possibly deny it? Is racism a wide spread cross cultural phenomena? Absolutely. Racism is an unfortunate part of the human condition. The dominant culture does not, and should not, get a pass.
Fact - trump has fascist tendencies. How could you possibly deny it? His politics aren't really the issue for me. I object to the attack on our system of government and the abject cruelty of his administration.

How to make it better:
The police force should reflect the population that they police. That includes leadership.
Better pay to attract high quality candidates.
Just like the Catholic Church needs to stop protecting pedophile priests, cops need to stop covering up for racist cops. When bad sh-t happens, cops need to be held accountable.
I’m sure others could add to my list, but in the end, we get the cops we put up with. We need to expect more.

Think of it like this. Nobody can prove tobacco causes cancer. Nobody. Yet I doubt any of you hand out cigs to your grandkids. But that is exactly what CV is doing. He has a right to do it. But is it a good thing?
