    Raleigh, NC     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

    North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners

    •   Hunter Cook (Mecklenburg County) - Cook is an audit partner with Dixon Hughes Goodman in the firm's Charlotte office and is Partner-in-Charge of the firm's Manufacturing│Distribution│Services Group. He earned a bachelor of science in accounting from Newberry College.

    •   George Rohe (Mecklenburg County) – Rohe is a consultant, having previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a tax partner. He is past president of the Charlotte chapters of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Rohe earned a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Missouri, a juris doctorate from the University of Florida, and a master's of science in business administration from the University of Indiana.

    •   Jeffrey Truitt (Wake County) – Truitt is an attorney with Smith Anderson Law. He is the chair of the Board of Directors for Stop Hunger Now. Truitt earned a bachelor of science degree from the United States Naval Academy, a master's from the University of Maryland, and a juris doctorate from the University of Chicago.

    The board is responsible for granting and annually renewing certificates of qualification to CPAs and CPA firms who meet the legal requirements. The term length is three years.

    U.S. Tobacco Cooperative Incorporated

    James Hill Jr. (Lenoir County) – Hill is president and co-manager of Tull Hill Farms, a large family-farm operation in Lenoir. Hill is being reappointed to the cooperative.

    The cooperative administers a price support program for flue-cured tobacco growers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. The term length is three years.

    North Carolina Forestry Council

    •   James Keith McCollum (Columbus County) – McCollum is a forester/procurement manager for Edwards Wood Products, Scotland. He is past chair of the Sandhills chapter of the Society of American Foresters.

    •   David Jennette Jr. (Bertie County) – Jennette is the president and general manager of Timberlands Unlimited. He will serve as chair of the council.

    •   James Watson (Halifax County) – Watson is the president of Watson Timber Co. He is a North Carolina registered forester.

    •   Toby Cole (Buncombe County) – Cole joined Asheville Radiology in 1999. He is an avid outdoorsman and a former president of the Blue Ridge Chapter of Quail Unlimited Inc.

    The council advises the secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources on all matters concerning the protection, management and preservation of state-owned, privately-owned and municipally-owned forests. The term length is four years.
