    Raleigh, N.C. – The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

    North Carolina Environmental Management Commission

  • Dr. Lawrence Raymond (Mecklenburg County) - Dr. Raymond is the director of occupational/environmental medicine at Carolinas HealthCare System.
  • Daniel Dawson (New Hanover County) – Dawson is a consulting engineer and land surveyor, specializing in municipal infrastructure and economic development projects.

    The commission has the power and duty to promulgate rules to be followed in the protection, preservation and enhancement of the water and air resources of the state. The term length is six years.

    North Carolina Emergency Response Commission

  • Regina Godette-Crawford (Wake County) – Godette-Crawford is the chief of the State Office of Emergency Medical Services. She is a reappointment to the commission.
  • Rick McIntyre (Wake County) – McIntyre is the senior deputy insurance commissioner and assistant state fire marshal.
  • Chief Gregory Grayson (Alamance County) – Grayson is the chief of the Greensboro Fire Department.

    The commission appoints local emergency planning committees and supervises and coordinates the activities of these committees. The term length is at the pleasure of the governor. At-large appointees have a two-year term length.

    North Carolina Sheriffs' Education and Training Standards Commission

  • The Honorable Robert Wisecarver (Davie County) – Wisecarver is a county commissioner and the owner of Wisecarver Trucking.

    The commission establishes and maintains the minimum employment, certification and training standards for all deputy sheriffs and jailers in the state. The term length is two years.
