Beaufort County Commissioners Continue to Limit Political Speech | Eastern North Carolina Now

At Monday night's Beaufort County Commissioner's general meeting, the commissioners voted 4 to 3 to ban certain political speech ascribed to by Commissioner Hood Richardson. Before the new commissioners were sworn in, just this past December, there was earlier a successful coup by the Liberals on the Beaufort County Board at the October, 2014, general meeting to seize Commissioner Richardson's political voice, by limiting his wide array of agenda items to just a handful, at the pleasure of then Chairman Jerry Langley. To silence the outspoken commissioner, Hood Richardson, at that general meeting also took a 4 to 3 vote of the commissioners.

Flash forward three months later, an election with two new commissioners, and now little has changed. Different commissioner faces, and still a 4 to 3 vote to silence the tenaciously conservative commissioner. With these two new, I'm off the board, who always voted to allow political speech on those many boards of county commissioners. Al Klemm is also off of the board, who rarely voted to allow political speech. The two new commissioners, Frankie Waters and Ron Buzzeo, both voted for 5 term commissioner to continue to bring his multitude of items to the board for their consideration, so what has changed to keep the vote at 4 to 3 to limit political speech by a commissioner, who represents the voice of his constituents?

What has changed is that Gary Brinn, with two short uneventful years of being a middling commissioner under his belt, negotiated the chairmanship away from the Republican majority (in name only) by negotiating with the Democrats to keep the county commission still under the control of the Democrats - a feat that has been continuous for well over a hundred years.

Now the new chairman of the board, Gary Brinn, has switched his vote to disallow Commissioner Richardson's political/governing speech - speech however monotonous, has proven to be most productive to better Conservative governing. Was becoming chairman of the Beaufort County Commission, for Brinn, worth breaking ties with the real Republicans of Beaufort County, and with the basic Conservative precept of political speech?

Only Gary Brinn, or his political advisers and handlers, Beaufort County's version of the "Three Stooges", the Washington Strategic Group, can answer that. We have well discovered that these stooges will do anything, say anything, and are completely devoid of any principles which iad in their achieving their nefarious political goals. At one point, these stooges, who have continuously advised Gary Brinn, thought it wise to throw their infamous political weight into defiling the argument against the Southwest County Jail, thereby proving their tacit approval of spending the 2 million of tax payer dollars for consultant fees, with no financing in place to build that unpopular public works project.

If Gary Brinn is taking advice from these RINO (Republican in Name Only) political advisers /handlers: Is there any wonder that Brinn is now working so closely with the Democrats on the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners?

Considering the advancement of Republican Party influence in North Carolina: Would the more Republican approach be:
1.77%   To support the established party infrastructure at the sole discretion of leadership?
91.52%   To marshal the power of the grassroots electorate to sustain their principles?
6.71%   To remain in the dark, while fed manure, as in the classic mushroom theory?
283 total vote(s)     Voting has Ended!
