      Saturday, August 6, 2016       Snakes Alive       10:00 am

    Expand your knowledge on local snakes by attending this fun and informative program. We will cover snake identification tips, traits and behaviors, and tips on how to live side by side with one of nature’s most misunderstood creatures. There will be live snakes throughout the program. Meet in the visitor center.

      Saturday, August 13, 2016       History Hike       10:00 am

    Learn about the history of the area starting with the establishment of North Carolina’s first town on this interpretive hike of Live Oak Trail. Meet in the last parking lot.

      Saturday, August 20, 2016       Plant Wars       10:00 am

    Do you have plants taking over an area of your yard or pond? Come to the visitor center to learn some of the common invasive plants and what you can do about it. We will go for a hike to see some of the problem areas within the park. Wear clothes and shoes comfortable for hiking and bug spray.

      Saturday, August 27, 2016       Flatty Creek Hike       10:00 am

    Meet at the campground parking lot to enjoy a relaxing half mile hike out to Flatty Creek. This area of the park is part of a National Natural Landmark which was established due to the diverse ecosystems. Feel free to bring bottled water, sunscreen and bug spray.

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day by visiting Goose Creek State Park in Washington.
Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
Please join us at the park visitor center on Saturday, October 8th from 3-5 pm where we will host a Halloween Wildlife Event.
On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., N.C. House of Representatives Speaker Tim Moore, Representative Keith Kidwell, local elected officials and industry leaders will break ground
