My Commentary on Bobby’s or Tony’s Commentary... “Draining the Swamp - Is it more than a Cliché?” | Eastern North Carolina Now

One of the lines that jumped out at me is..."It diverts out attention from the real problem. Washington is a Swamp".

George Washington and I wrote a Blog Posting in Foolishness...Or Is It? www.forii.blogspot.com that said pretty much the same thing and we posted it in Beaufort County Now on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017. To save you the trouble of scrolling back, here it is...

First Time Ever! A Petition Received From Beyond The Grave

General George Washington has petitioned the Congress to change the name of Washington D.C. to, "Anything else ye damn well please".

    He went on to say...
"I spent my life in service to this once great country and I no longer consider it an honor to have our capital named after me.
Besides, my cohorts up here in heaven have begun to laugh at me every time the word "Washington" is mentioned on the news. Since ye now have the 24 Hour News Cycle, the guffaws are never ending.
Sadly sleep is not needed up here. If we did sleep, I could get away from the ridicule for a wee bit. This being the case, the laughing and finger pointing never stops.
    Benjamin Franklin is the worst!"

Authorities are baffled at how Ole George went about communicating with Congress. A Senate Committee will begin holding hearings next week to get to the root of this strange phenomenon. Committee Hearings are a sure way to get to the bottom of any issue of importance...Or are they?

    Would I kid u?

    Lagniappe:
I think this statement Of Bobby's or Tony's is profound...
"The only way most politicians could say less it to talk more as each pronouncement turns into a way to wiggle out of a previous statement."
It sounds like something The Fella might have written but, since he didn't, he can only wish he had (and possibly plagiarize at a later date).

Alex, You are right. My twisted sense of humor causes me to include some dead end links just to see who follows them . This one was intentional and I had to really reach down into the absurd to come up with it.

Is this link (beaufortcountynow.com) supposed to go somewhere? If it is, it doesn't. If it's not, ignore this Comment...
Readers who pay close attention (1%) to my articles sometimes follow the links in the article to gain more facts. Since I realize the most people don't follow the links, I often just include them to enhance my argument as shown below:

As an avid follower of Alex's blog as well as his post on BCN, I freely admit that George Washington and Alex's previous post may have influenced me. I take great pains to provide links to research when I write an article. I do this for two reasons.

1: One it adds an authority to the research
2: It makes me appear to be smarter than I actually am.

However, sometimes I may appropriate a quote without attribution. In this case the quote Alex referenced was made by Cavett Robert, but I thought I could pass it off as my own. I don't regret the error, I just regret getting caught. I am not sure who first said "Washington is a Swamp," but it sounded like me or Alex, so I will take credit for only stealing good phrases.
