On Dec. 16, 2011, Vinest "Faye" Conner Hardy, affectionately know as "Faye," entered into eternal and peaceful rest at her home in Washington, N.C.

She is the daughter of the late Mrs. Inez Conner Roberson and the late William Rogers Conner on Dec. 10, 1944 in Ransomville, N.C. (known as over the river from Belhaven). Vinest Hardy is the second child of six children. She attended Belhaven High School where she graduated in 1963. After graduating high school, she relocated from Belhaven, N.C. to New Haven, Conn. While living in Connecticut, she married Robert Hardy and from that union they have three children - Robert, Simone, Wanda Hardy - and two grandchildren Nigel Holley and Porscheda Keech. She enjoyed over 20 years of employment until retirement with United Technology. She attended and graduated from Carver Bible Institute, Atlanta, Ga.; New Haven Academy of Business and Stone Business College, New Haven, Conn.

In 1976, she received Christ as her personal Savior. With a zeal for Christ within two weeks she was filled with the Holy Spirit through fasting and praying. Faye received her training through and under pastor Bob Pulley. In 1979, Faye accepted her call into the Ministry. In 1984, Faye moved south through the leading of the Holy Spirit and began to Evangelize in Eastern North Carolina. The Holy Spirit moved through her in the areas of Bath, Washington and Blount's Creek. Many souls were saved, many were healed and many were delivered.

In 1989, Faye found herself on the way back to New Haven, Conn., and was reinstated on her job at United Technology. In February 1991, persuaded by the Holy Ghost, Faye found herself back in Beaufort County, N.C.

After this time, she became pastor Vinest Faye Hardy of Holy Ghost Deliverance Church where many lives were saved and the ministry began to grow. She served in the community by feeding the homeless with the North Carolina Food Bank.

She was honored to pray at the City of Washington Municipal Building for National Day of Prayer. She was a notary public for Beaufort County. She was the treasurer for Class of 1963 Belhaven High School Alumni. She also traveled to the Hyde County Correctional Facility to encourage the men. She became Overseer Fay Hardy under the leadership of Apostle Ardean Richardson. She continued God's work and building Holy Ghost Deliverance Church and purchased a gymnasium and moved into a house of Worship and God elevated her into Apostleship as Apostle Faye Hardy.

Apostle Hardy leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Robert D. Hardy, Washington, N.C.; Simone Hardy, Wilmington, N.C.; Wanda Hardy, Washington, N.C.; two grandchildren, Porscheda Keech, Washington, N.C. and Nigel Holley, Wilmington, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Keech, Washington, N.C. and Josiah Herring, Washington, N.C.; three sisters, Berdest Huggins (Percy), New Haven, Conn.; Queenie Moore (Aaron), New Haven, Conn.; Phyllis Tucker (Richard), Bloomfield, Conn.; one brother, Marvin Conner (Dorothy), New Haven, Conn.; one aunt Clara Jones, Bronx, N.Y., and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin Aldridge and Charlie Rogers Conner.
