These two videos, sent to me by contributor George Schryer, express what I've noticed for some time, the seeds of which were sown almost three decades ago. I noticed glimpses of this when I coached children in sports during all of the 1990's.

During those days, when I coached the children of other parents, I noticed that my attitude was somewhat outside the norm of what were some other parental expectations. Now mind you, some of these parents were not as ridiculous as the inane, "Oh, we don't keep score" parental neophytes, but some were very close, and had no understanding, whatsoever, that team sports were intended to be competitive. It was as if they signed up their children just so they could get their weekly minimum quota of vitamin D, but not compete.

I could list all the reasons as to why competitive sports are a necessary component in raising a generation of future citizens, and how terribly destructive it is to raise children to believe that competition is unnecessary; however, here below, we have the first video that expresses, so ably, how the generational evolution of profound weakness of the noncompetitive human can spawn the genesis of a pathetic society of laziness. It is well evidenced by an essay exercise completed by an economics class of Sophomores at Valencia College in Florida, and in this video, exposed by their incredulous professor.

As I grow older, I am beginning to believe that Charles Darwin may have possessed a nugget of prophetic wisdom, in his "On the Origin of Species" that may well explain the societal frailty that could lead to the irreparable diminishment of the American promise intended for a good, purposeful People.

The second video details how susceptible a pathetically weak people can be overcome by the Fascist tenets of Socialism and then collectivism of Communism. When I witness the admonishment of the Valencia College economics professor, and the Occupy Wall Street 'street urchins', I have to wonder: Just how many of these sad, weak people participated in competitive sports as they attempted to complete the maturation process?

Very few, I would think. Way to go all ye sanctimonious parents, who would shield their little darlings from any competitive activities of societal valor, and conversely, a society where there are no winners, no losers, and ultimately, no competitors - just weakness, plenty of sadness, and in many grown children - still living at home.

There is one upside to the weak parents, weak children / grown children still living at home scenario - mating is made more difficult, therefore effectively removing their genetic information from the gene pool. It's like enjoying the benefits of non-death Darwin Award winners into their absolute fruition of purpose, and that can't be all bad; however, will it be enough to stave off the collectivism of Communism in America?

I have my doubts, and the video here below certainly doesn't help with any prospective optimism on my part.
