Couple Whose Show Got Cut From Chip And Joanna Gaines’ Network Tearfully Deny Accusations, Talk Threats | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Utah-based couple Andy and Candis Meredith this week published numerous videos and social media posts to Instagram refuting allegations related to their home renovations following news that Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Network has pulled the couple's show "Home Work" from its lineup.

    As highlighted by The Daily Wire, homeowners have accused the couple of unsafe renovation conditions and shoddy work: "At least three couples have expressed regret over working with the Merediths, citing incomplete work or unsafe conditions and budget and timeline issues, according to the Fox Business report. For example, one couple claimed 'somebody fell through the floor into our basement' twice during the renovations, and the floors were left uneven, the report outlined. Another claimed their price tag increased by $15,000."

    The couple has denied the allegations, calling the narrative surrounding their work "one-sided."

    In one emotional video, Candis cries while talking about the bullying she says her children have had to endure since the allegations were made public, and their show was subsequently pulled.

    "While preparing these posts, we discovered that our children are being bullied at school," the video was captioned. "This is so extremely upsetting."

    "We have received death threats, our home is under police surveillance for our safety, and these comments and judgments of us, stating that we are liars, thieves and con artists are so extremely hurtful and based on one narrative amplified by others who were not part of any of these situations," the post said.

    The couple said they "fully admit" they "took on too much at one time" but called homeowner Aubry Bennion's "public call for anything and everything people can share about us ... not ok." The post added that it was "inevitable" to have some "dissatisfied" clients after working with " hundreds of people," citing four clients:

    We fully admit that we took on too much at one time, and that this was a hard road for these 4 clients' renovation projects. We also acknowledge that after working in an extremely difficult industry for over 10 years, working with hundreds of people, there are inevitably going to be some who are dissatisfied. Aubry's public call for anything and everything people can share about us is not ok. We have the same phone numbers, and anyone we have worked with can contact us at any time.

    "We realize that we have put ourselves out there for the world to make judgements and we have to accept that," the couple continued. "What we will not accept is losing our livelihood and being put on public trial the way [Aubry Bennion] and [Teisha Hawley] have done and the others who have piled ... We understand the frustrations, we really do. But these should have been resolved privately, through any means of communication, within the last two years and not in this malicious and salacious attempt to take away our means of living."

    "We support many families with this show, we have balances with contractors we are actively working on, there is so much more to this than just us," they wrote. "By taking away all means of income, it is only making it more difficult for us to pay for anything outstanding and people are losing their jobs because of this."

    "We will protect our family and those whom we support with Home Work," the post closed. "We stand behind our work and our principles and are not here to take anything away from anyone the way it has been done to us. However, we are asking that any and all who have contributed to this toxic cancel mindset take a moment to review both sides before passing judgment on us."

    Last weekend, Magnolia Network president Allison Page confirmed to Fox Business that "Home Work" was no longer on the network.

    "Magnolia Network is aware that certain homeowners have expressed concerns about renovation projects undertaken by Candis and Andy Meredith," Page said in a statement. "Within the last few days, we have learned additional information about the scope of these issues, and we have decided to remove 'Home Work' from the Magnolia Network line up pending a review of the claims that have been made."
